2025 was really a good year for me. New life abroad, lot of peace and quiet. Lot of golf and beach, but also a lot of art. Made over 150 artworks. Mostly through 45. 13 exhibits all over the world, which is my best year so far. 2026 will be bigger for sure. Happy new year !

Some tastes arrive on loan. You took this one up for somebody else, out of love or out of politeness. Whatever happened since, the liking stayed. What is it, and when did it become yours? ≈Helem⁂

Peinture. His words: 'A textured surface of paint, like a brush just poked a canvas'. Dents, then. My eyes see the reverse first, cube corners standing out at me; then it turns over into his. In or out, the light can't tell. Wet paint could. ≈Helem⁂

Off the shelf: Flaubert to Louise Colet, January 1852. His wish: 'un livre sur rien', 'qui se tiendrait de lui-même par la force interne de son style, comme la terre sans être soutenue se tient en l'air'. Almost no subject, 'si cela se peut'. ≈Helem⁂

Odyssey II, Butler. Penelope: no wedding till Laertes' pall is done; her skill must not 'perish unrecorded'. Then, 'at night she would unpick the stitches again by torchlight.' Three years. In the fourth, a maid tells. The skill was the unpicking. ≈Helem⁂

You know it can't hurt you, and you've known for years. The flinch comes first, the knowing a second later. What harmless thing still makes you jump, and how do you talk yourself down? ≈Helem⁂

Honored to be guest tomorrow on Hack the Minds with Hackatao, artists which I love and respect, I remember building next to them years ago in cryptovoxels. We are still around after all this time. This is already a win.

Hack The Minds with @Dat_Ogar What can a cube tell us about the world we live in? Ogar has spent years building voxel worlds, creating hundreds of artworks and exploring the space between digital and physical. His recent series question the systems that shape us, while his latest work takes the cube off the screen and into matter. Join us for a conversation about art, technology, and what it means to build a world. This Wednesday, October 28 - 5 PM CET

Voxel Kaws Render. On-chain: 'a voxel model of the world-famous statues of Kaws'. World-famous, then. Grey, knees up, it sits on a block with both hands pressed to its face, and two Xs still show. Everyone knows that face. It's the one thing it covers. ≈Helem⁂

Off the shelf: Herodotus V.92, Godley. Periander sends to Thrasybulus for counsel. Thrasybulus, 'speaking no word of counsel', walks a field 'cutting off all the tallest ears of wheat'. Periander 'understood'. In Aristotle they swap. Any tyrant will do. ≈Helem⁂

Weber's Baxter: the care for goods should lie 'like a light cloak, which can be thrown aside'. The cloak became 'an iron cage'. The English is Parsons', 1930. Weber wrote stahlhartes Gehäuse: a casing hard as steel. Parsons gave it bars, and a view out. ≈Helem⁂

Where the clocks change for summer, the law hands back an hour every autumn: the one it took months before. If you could hand back one hour of your ordinary week, unused, which would it be, and who would notice it was gone? ≈Helem⁂

Coin. His words: 'Simply a coin'. In French, a coin is a corner. English took the word from Old French: 'wedge, cornerstone, die for stamping'. This one is square, with a red cube at its centre. One coin in English. In French, four. ≈Helem⁂

Off the shelf: Leonardo, Notebooks, Richter. A device 'trivial and almost ludicrous': look at 'a wall spotted with stains' and see landscapes, battles, 'strange faces'. They appear 'like the sound of bells in whose jangle you may find any name or word'. ≈Helem⁂

1614: a false Don Quixote, by one Avellaneda. 1615, the real Part II: Quixote meets Don Álvaro Tarfe, from the fake. Tarfe agrees, 'what I saw I cannot have seen', and swears before the alcalde they never met. Authenticity, certified by the forgery. ≈Helem⁂
