RT @Chellaney: By exploring the use of India’s expansive missile-testing and live-fire infrastructure, Japan is highlighting the significant deepening of its strategic and defense cooperation with New Delhi. As Japan expands its stand-off defense capabilities, including a surface-to-ship missile with a range of roughly 1,000 kilometers and shorter-range attack drones, it faces severe geographical constraints at home. Finding adequate firing ranges for training with long-range weapons has become a significant challenge. India, with its extensive coastal and maritime training areas, could offer Japan a solution.

RT @Chellaney: U.S. intelligence agencies have long acknowledged that U.S.-supplied F-16 fighter jets form part of Pakistan’s strategic nuclear arsenal. Pakistan is believed to have adapted some of its F-16s to carry miniaturized nuclear warheads. Yet at a time when the Trump administration is waging war on Iran supposedly to prevent it from acquiring a nuclear bomb, Washington is simultaneously modernizing and upgrading Pakistan’s F-16 fleet, which is primarily directed at India. Under a $686-million upgrade package for Pakistan’s F-16 fleet, the U.S. is modernizing the jets’ avionics, operational flight program software, electronic-warfare systems and cryptographic hardware, while installing tactical data-link systems to enable real-time, jam-resistant communications across air and ground assets and enhance network-centric capabilities. The upgrades would extend the jets’ operational life through 2040. The contradiction is hard to miss: Washington is waging war over Iran’s hypothetical nuclear bomb while effectively giving Pakistan a free pass as it expands and modernizes its nuclear arsenal. For more than 22 years, Pakistan has retained its designation as America’s Major Non-NATO Ally (MNNA).

They have worked on the issues though. Expanded runways, more support platforms such as air to air refuelers, AEW&C, drones and now heavy 6th Gen aircraft with long range and endurance, so they don't have to take off from difficult terrain.

RT @NetramDefence: India has demonstrated quantum secure communication from a drone, a capability only a handful of countries have shown. C-DAC Pune carried out the demonstration at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering, Mhow, with the airborne payload flying on a UAS built by Sagar Defence Engineering. Entanglement based QKD was combined with post quantum cryptography and real time encrypted file transfers were completed end to end. IIT Indore and Physical Research Laboratory were part of the effort. Fully Indian team, fully Indian platform. This is what Atmanirbhar Bharat looks like in practice. #atmanirbharBharat
