We surged personnel, invested in upgrades, streamlined the entire pipeline, and put advanced technology to work. The results? 1.8 MILLION samples processed and the backlog ELIMINATED for the first time in FBI history. Thousands of investigations aided, more DNA profiles connecting criminals to evidence, more cases getting solved, and safer streets for the American people.

Before the FBI and its partners shut it down, the Virtualine[.]net domain was used to facilitate the distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), international money laundering, and numerous other cybercrimes. The case was investigated by @FBIWFO, with significant assistance from Germany’s Polizei Hessen, the Netherlands’ Politie Midden-Nederland, the UK’s National Crime Agency, and private sector partners OverRIPE and Lumen. The Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs provided additional support.

    Case update from @FBIStLouis : Eric Washington was sentenced to 30 years in prison for a 2023 murder-for fire plot. Around 10 p.m. on July 6, 2023, Washington picked up Andreaia Worthem from her home in St. Louis County and drove her to St. Louis, where he shot her multiple times. The murder came during an attempt by Worthem’s son, Andrew C. Hubbard, to profit from a $150,000 insurance policy that he'd obtained for her. Learn more:
