    Today, FDA kicked off its Rare Disease Framework Initiative with a public meeting, co-hosted by @ReaganUdall. Thanks to all who joined for your input, candor & vision. With only 5% of rare diseases having an approved treatment, the status quo isn't enough — we must do more. FDA Acting Commissioner @FDA_KyleD shared with the attendees that the “urgency of the need has not changed, but now we — the agency, drug developers, researchers, and patients — are ready to meet that need together.”

    The FDA is responsible for ensuring the U.S. seafood supply is safe, sanitary, wholesome, and properly labeled. To support the America First Seafood Strategy, the agency published draft guidance to help companies proudly and accurately label seafood of U.S. origin. If finalized, the guidance would provide examples of statements, such as “U.S.-Caught,” and graphics featuring the American flag to help consumers identify and choose U.S. seafood.
