🚧 GHMC INTENSIFIES DEMOLITION DRIVE AGAINST UNAUTHORIZED CONSTRUCTIONS GHMC carried out demolition operations at 3 locations on October 16, 2026, targeting unauthorized constructions and deviations from sanctioned building plans. 🔹 Golconda Zone: Demolition of an unauthorized cellar, ground floor and six upper floors. 🔹 Khairatabad Zone: Demolition of unauthorized third, fourth and fifth floors. 🔹 Secunderabad Zone: Demolition of an unauthorized fourth floor. 📋 Enforcement Across GHMC Limits A preliminary assessment has identified 473 ongoing constructions suspected of being unauthorized or deviating from sanctioned plans. Notice issuance and passing of speaking orders are underway as per the provisions of the CURE Act. GHMC is formulating a comprehensive action plan for the demolition or sealing of such structures. 📋 DE-NOVO ELECTORAL ROLLS | MBNR–RR–HYD GRADUATES’ CONSTITUENCY A meeting with AEROs of the Mahabubnagar–Rangareddy–Hyderabad Graduates’ Constituency was held on 17.10.2026 to review preparations for the de-novo electoral rolls as per the schedule issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI). 🔹 Key Dates * Public Notice: 28.09.2026 * Newspaper Re-publications: 15.10.2026 & 25.10.2026 * Last Date for Form-18: 06.11.2026 * Draft Roll Publication: 25.11.2026 * Claims & Objections: 25.11.2026–10.12.2026 * Final Electoral Roll Publication: 30.12.2026 🔹 Eligibility & Documentation Applicants must be Indian citizens, ordinarily resident in the constituency covering 9 districts, and graduates of a notified university/institution by 31.10.2023, based on the date of results. Prescribed proof of residence and educational qualification must be submitted. 🔹 Instructions to AEROs & Designated Officers * Receive physical/offline Form-18 applications with supporting documents. * Conduct meetings with recognised political parties and publicise the schedule through print, electronic and social media. * Share Designated Officers’ details and locations. * Register and digitise applications; download online applications and forward them for field verification. * Ensure thorough verification of accepted and rejected cases, maintain applicant-wise dockets and update daily application counts on the designated Google Drive sheet. * Conduct door-to-door verification through BLOs; applicants must not be called to offices for enquiry. * Ensure verification by Designated Officers, scrutiny by AEROs and final approval by EROs. * Mask the first eight digits of Aadhaar numbers on applications and copies, and keep records securely under the AERO’s personal custody. 🔹 Polling Station Verification The constituency has 656 tentative polling stations across 9 districts. AEROs must conduct 100% physical verification of existing polling station buildings and submit rationalisation proposals as per ECI/CEO Telangana guidelines. 🔹 Budget & Logistics District Election Officers and Collectors will arrange computers, data-entry operators, printing of online applications and supporting documents, DRC centres, and transportation of polled ballot boxes and election materials to the Hyderabad counting centre, using funds allocated by CEO Telangana. 🧼 Global Handwashing Day 2026 | GHMC The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) observed *Global Handwashing Day 2026* across all zones and circles, focusing on strengthening occupational health, hygiene practices, infection prevention and disease control among sanitation and entomology workers. Sensitisation and training sessions were conducted by the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH), Assistant Medical Officers of Health (AMOHs) and Metropolitan Surveillance Unit (MSU) teams, covering disease transmission, occupational health risks and preventive measures.
