RT @DrTedros: Sexual and reproductive health and rights are among the greatest public health and development achievements of our time, helping millions of women gain greater control over their health, education and economic futures. Yet progress cannot be taken for granted. Expanded access to contraception, safe abortion services, and advances in cervical cancer prevention and care are among the landmark gains that have improved health outcomes and strengthened the agency of women and girls worldwide. At a moment of profound global change, we must continue to champion evidence-based policies that protect rights, expand opportunities and advance health for all. In a new paper published in @TheLancet, my colleague Dr @PascaleAllotey and I reflect on why safeguarding and advancing these essential rights remains critical for the health and well-being of women and girls, their families, and their communities.
