I just published my 1st article on medium! For many of us, commuting by car costs $5000 or more a year. This doesn’t even include the cost of car ownership, which is thousands more. Can an E-Bike save you a boatload of money this year? Have a read!

RT @JackMurphyRGR: Veterans are really having a normal one this last week huh? 😆 It's like Captain America: Civil War but super lame and boring.

Indeed. Making military bases friendly to mass transit, (e) biking, and walking would do wonders to soldier QOL, time management, & finances. It is absurd that nearly every member of a 15,000+ strong division needs an individual car for every movement on post. We can do better

@mikejason73 Sadly, the military is representing well the nation it serves in making single occupant vehicle travel almost obligatory. Think of how much we could reduce DUIs, car loan debt, tickets, etc by making walking, biking and transit viable options for soldiers.

If you were to deploy for 12 months and wanted to learn a new skill during your down time, what would you learn?

Same first name, same last name, same rank, same duty station (same commissioning source and year group)- my experience for 2 years or so. Since my middle initial was first, guess who got two sets of emails 🫥

Published at ⁦⁦@WarInstitute⁩! It’s great to be writing again. What advice would you give a current or future army leader?

All this dunking on the cadet/LT’s submission and MWIs selection without actually having submitted any writing piece to MWI oneself speaks a lot about the current state of miltwitter. Lot of people happy to be a critic w/o stepping into the arena. Well done CDT Li and LT Xie ✍️

On a typical PZ timeline, one will spend 7 years total as a CPT before pinning MAJ. True, a new CPT & a senior CPT may wear the same rank - but the experience differential can be significant. Hard to believe 6 years ago I PCSd to FT Riley to begin my post MCCC service, same rank

Scored a 3/3/2+ on my Arabic (MSA/Fusha) DLPT + OPI language test. Extremely grateful to have had this one of a kind experience. The army continues to be good to me, with the opportunities of a lifetime. Big thanks to the loved ones for their support along the way و حمد لله 🙏🏼

Does anyone have any tailor recommendations in either DC or NYC? In need of a suit or two, plus several shirts. Thanks for any thoughts 🙏🏼!

Ranger school, badges etc. If Miltwitter isn’t about leaders encouraging one another and encouraging prospective soldiers to strive for success in military training and education, than what is it really about?

We can have an honest conversation about the problems associated w/ overplaying the importance of Ranger school as the sole basis of hiring without devolving into deconstructive dialogue that erodes at the core of what the military profession is all about.

If doctors, lawyers, teachers, and other professionals denigrated their qualifications in the way that some voices do here, it would likely not reflect well on their profession. So if you have a voice here on miltwitter - use it constructively for the future of the force

This is a fantastic article complete with detailed research. Writing is a critical component to the growth + development of the profession of arms - the recommendations for writing reform are easy to understand & attainable. Bravo @z_e_griffiths

One of the most important yet perhaps underrated initiatives in the profession of arms as of late, imo. Professional writing has been a cornerstone of my development but unfortunately my former branch magazine (IN) was too cumbersome to work w/ at the time. An awesome initiative

Please take a look at this awesome initiative to renew the @USArmy's professional publications. @TheoLipsky and I are proud to work on this. Big things to come next week!

Small thing, but I reached the point where I haven’t driven my car to work in 2 years and have had that car paid off for 5 years. Many thanks to unique assignments and an electric bike. Hoping to continue biking to work and living w/o car payment for a few more. 🪖 🚲 ⚡️🫡

RT @6Voodoo: Hot take: Lt Ring is the hero of Heartbreak Ridge and his relationship with Gunnery Sergeant Highway is the best young officer/experienced NCO depiction in cinema.
