Statement from Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare on the passing of Judge Kristin Guiney
"Harris County has lost one of its finest public servants. Judge Kristin Guiney was my Chief when I served as a young prosecutor in the 185th District Court, and I will be forever grateful for her mentorship and guidance in seeking justice. After her years as a prosecutor, she defended the accused with the same conviction. On the bench, she led efforts to steer people who needed treatment toward a second chance. Later, as head of Angela House, she helped women rebuild their lives after incarceration. It's hard to think of anyone who has done more to fight for this office and this community than Kristin. Our thoughts are with her family, her friends, and everyone whose life she touched."
