#Quantum #LDPC codes decoded with belief propagation don't need to perform poorly. If we use a modified ensemble decoder and an adapted #QLDPC code design, we can mitigate the effects of unavoidable short cycles. #QEC #ErrorCorrection

RT @ClimateHuman: It's quite something that the world's top scientists put out a synthesis report that essentially says civilization as we know it will end unless the world comes together to stop rapidly expanding the fossil fuel industry but to instead rapidly end it, and almost no one cares

Very happy to have been elevated to the grade of #IEEE #Fellow by @IEEEorg . Thanks and appreciation go to all my collaborators and students from @BellLabs and @KITKarlsruhe without whom I couldn‘t have made these contributions!

RT @BorisAKnyazev: Dear paper writers, consider using \𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘢𝘨𝘦[𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗿𝗲𝗳=𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲]{𝘩𝘺𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘧} instead of simply \𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘢𝘨𝘦{𝘩𝘺𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘧} to make it easier for a reader to jump to the references and back.

A must read. This book blew my mind when I first read it.

Definitely check out "The Probabilistic Method" by Joel Spencer and Noga Alon. The first four chapters really give a nice idea of the algorithmic stuff you can do with probability. The remaining chapters show you how wide the field is. Every proof is "from the book".

RT @muskrat_john: My 13-year-old is making jello tuna salad from a cookbook (for want of a better word) that my parents had, in the 1960s. Ingredients include mayonnaise, tuna, onions, olives, pimentos, all suspended in…lime Jello.
