Omarchy

Omarchy 4.5 RC2 is now out and it includes our new F1 install technique that can almost get a full installation down to the time of a pitstop on the fastest machines (current record is 6 seconds!!).

We’re hiring @hancore_linux as Head of Design and Community! He’s moving from his seat in Omarchy AIR to join the Omacom Foundation full time as our fourth staff member.

Omarchy 4.5 RC1 is available as a pre-release ISO for both x86 and ARM, as well as on the RC channel. Absolutely packed with features and improvements. Please help us test it!

Omarchy 4.0.5 has been released. Another big batch of fixes, tweaks, and dependency updates. We're still hard at work on the next major update with new features, apps, and aesthetics!

RT @erikrjohansson: Of course my Omarchy machine should have a Mouse Hotkey Wheel where I can run any app, action or whatever I want with a flick of the wrist

RT @diogochaves: There was no qBittorrent app for Omarchy that looked and felt like a real app. And since I run qBittorrent in Docker, double-clicking a .torrent or clicking a magnet link did nothing, unless I installed the desktop qBittorrent too. So I made one: omaseed.

RT @dhh: Fortnite is coming to Linux!! We are already working with the folks at @EpicGames to ensure that @Omarchy is ready on day one with all the security requirements. Amazing what's possible when you nag @TimSweeneyEpic for years 😂

RT @ryanrhughes: I've had this M3 Max sitting on my desk just waiting for this installer to reach a solid testing state. It's really incredible how easy it can be to install directly on Apple Silicon now due to the great work of the team!

RT @dhh: It was a privilege to talk Omarchy with so many enthusiastic Japanese users last night. This totally has that early-Rails vibe right now. Just a bunch of people who love technology and computers getting together to create something beautiful. 🇯🇵♥️

皆さんありがとうございました。Tokyo Night楽しかった〜！ #omarchy_tokyo

Please welcome @greptile as a Distinguished Corporate Patron to the Omacom Foundation, as they've dedicated $150,000 in tokens to continue providing PR reviews across all our repos. Agentic peer review that has already delivered!

Omarchy is taking off like a rocket, so the next release will feature a Tokyo Night version of that iconic Starship launch as its default background to celebrate 🚀

Omarchy Meetup in Tokyo and Warsaw tomorrow, and also another eight more this week alone around the world. Great places to meet others for a night of beautiful, fun & agentic Linux!

Signed is a new app for signing PDFs to replace the cumbersome Xournal++ in Omarchy. Will be default in the next version.

Glassy, transparent or opaque. Set your windows as your wish and make your bar match if you please. Coming soon.

Beautiful boot/theme intros coming to Omarchy. Great work by AIR member @yamzeight.

Omarchy is getting a per-workspace or global option to run as a traditional desktop with a dock. Great set of training wheels for anyone new to tiling window managers who need a safe space until it clicks! Comes with Alt+Tab, minimization, left/right/top/bottom positioning.

This is available on the Dev channel already. But unless you're the adventurous kind or have a second machine, I wouldn't daily Dev. It does break from time to time. You can hop back and forth though.

Multiple keyboard layouts and input methods will be available under Settings > Typing in the next version. Toggle between them on Super + I.

Caps Lock will be left alone by default in the next version. Too confusing for too many people. Shift + Caps Lock will now be the compose key.

RT @hyprwm: As the exclusive sponsorship begins, another big thank you to @Omarchy's Omacom Foundation for sponsoring Hyprland for 3 years!! This will allow Hyprland to smoothly continue development for the coming years and bring more and more hypr into linux.
