    The DSA National Political Committee has voted to unendorse and expel Nithya Raman She has until October 31 to express clear direct support for BDS to retain endorsement, and until January 1 to condemn weapon shipments for Israel out of LAX to remain a member of DSA Both resolutions are linked below

    Important note in the resolution on expulsion if Raman loses the LA Mayoral election on November 3: "all deadlines and proposed disciplinary votes for CM Raman and the LA chapter in this proposal shall be null and void. The NPC will instead continue to work with DSA-LA leadership to host a town hall for all DSA-LA members on how to support BDS and an Arms Embargo campaign out of LAX."

    For clarity, this vote to begin proceedings to expel Nithya Raman is not final Several questions are listed that Raman will be asked to provide clear answers to, including specific commitments, and if not fulfilled by a deadline of January 1 2027 will lead to a final vote on expulsion The expulsion vote would require a 2/3 majority of the NPC; an 18-9 vote (this resolution only passed 15-12)

    @Popstonox to clarify, there was no vote to expel at tonight’s meeting. NPC voted to initiate a process that COULD lead to expulsion at some point if commitments aren’t received but any expulsion will need 2/3rds of the NPC which is a really high bar
