- We must stop believing sweet lies. If a politician is too hamstrung to stand up for us now, why should we assume they’ll suddenly find the courage to buck the system once they’re elected? Power doesn’t automatically make people braver. Sometimes it makes them more afraid of losing what they’ve gained. And here’s something else I’ve learned: You can’t back into a revolution. You can’t ease into one, slip and fall, and accidentally land in one. Real change requires deliberate action, clear demands, and people willing to stand behind them.
