Add the languages you speak fluently. Pay particular attention to languages such as Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, etc., if you speak them. The current project announcement specifically mentions these languages among the supported languages. 3. Check your email The transcription project appears to be invitation/qualification based, rather than simply being an open job you can immediately start. Check your inbox and spam/junk folder for an invitation from Spout. 4. Take the qualification According to the recent announcement, the qualification consists of transcribing 3 audio clips. If you pass, you can receive access to the transcription project. 5. Complete the project The advertised rate is $10 per hour of audio. Note that this means audio hour, not necessarily one hour of your working time. A difficult 60-minute recording could take considerably longer to transcribe. 🇳🇬 Can Nigerians do it? There is good reason to try. Spout's own privacy policy explicitly lists country/region and preferred language as account information, and Spout operates AI speech/voice-data projects. However, I wouldn't assume that every Spout project is available to every Nigerian account. Availability appears to depend on the particular language/project and whether Spout invites you.
