There was a time when I regarded Donald Trump as simply a highly effective president.
Then I watched, in real time, as the fake news media, the FBI, the intelligence community, the CIA, major technology platforms, and the full Washington apparatus locked arms in a sustained effort to eliminate one man.
The flood of lawsuits, the two impeachments, the nonstop fabrications beginning with the Russia collusion narrative, the Ukraine call hoax, the "very fine people" hoax, the Mar-a-Lago raid, the gag orders, the attempts to strike him from ballots, the campaigns to bankrupt him and send him to prison. All of it was aimed at stopping him from reclaiming power.
Three attempts on his life followed.
Despite roughly 95% of coverage framing him negatively while about 78% of coverage of Joe Biden, Obama and Kamala Harris was positive, he still secured a clear victory. How does that happen?
That was the moment it became plain: no one attracts this scale of synchronized, unhinged resistance unless they represent a genuine mortal danger to a system widely understood to be corrupt and broken. Conventional politicians do not provoke this kind of coordinated panic.
From then on, I stopped seeing him as a great president.
He is the greatest who has ever held the office.
