Victims of Communism✓

The VOC Museum teaches the violent truth about communism. That's why we are never surprised when Marxists threaten us and vandalize our schoolhouse—they want to stop our mission. Will you help us stand for freedom and educate the next generation on the evils of communism? Your support will be doubled now until midnight on May 13 thanks to a generous $100,000 matching challenge from two freedom lovers who understand that we must fight for truth against the lies of communism. Will you help us meet the $100,000 match with a donation today? Learn more and donate at:

The Hungarian Revolution of 1956 was more than just an anti-communist movement; it was a fight for freedom. On October 23, 1956, students took to the streets and overthrew their communist oppressors. For a few days, freedom reigned in Hungary. But Moscow had other plans.

RT @VoCommunism: On this day in 1983, U.S. forces invaded the Caribbean island of Grenada in a major military operation aimed at countering the growing influence of communism in the region.

On this day, we commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. We remember all those who stood against the evil of communism. We honor the young freedom fighters who sacrificed everything to join the struggle against tyranny, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice. These young men and women had their entire lives ahead of them, yet when duty called, they put everything on the line, taking to the streets to defend their families, their nation, and their freedom. Instead of watching passively from their classrooms, they joined the fight, knowing well that it may be their last. Finally, we remember the innocent lives lost and forever scarred by the horrors of communism. To us at the VOC, it remains deeply troubling that so many around the world continue to glorify this wretched ideology. It is therefore our duty to ensure that the dark history of communism is never forgotten—not only for the sake of future generations, but also in honour of the countless men and women whose lives, dreams, and futures were stolen by it.

It was a true honor to host Márton Hajdu, Member of the Hungarian Parliament and Chair of the Foreign Policy Committee, at the VOC Museum to explore our new exhibit on the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.

The Victims of Communism Museum is excited to unveil our latest exhibit: The 1956 Hungarian Freedom Fight: 70 Years Later, From Revolution to Refuge. Thank you to the gallery curators and partners at the Hungarian American Coalition and the American Hungarian Foundation for making this possible. RT @VoCommunism: Communism kills.

RT @VoCommunism: On this day in 1978, Karol Wojtyła was officially elected Pope John Paul II. Amid some of the Cold War’s most turbulent years, his visit to his native Poland inspired millions to stand firm in their faith, even in the face of oppression. Many historians view that visit as a spiritual spark that helped ignite the Solidarity movement, setting in motion events that would ultimately contribute to the fall of communism in Europe.

RT @VoCommunism: Scenes from the Cuban Missile Crisis, which began on this day in 1962 and lasted 13 tense days.

RT @VoCommunism: Che Guevara died on this day in 1967. He was a communist revolutionary and murderer who spread his evil ideology by any means necessary. Oppression and death followed him from Cuba to Bolivia and the Congo.
