Hunger — and the work to eliminate it — belongs at the forefront of the world’s attention. Behind every statistic is a person. Behind every meal is a @WFP team member delivering hope. Those stories matter. Today at the @UN, I urged journalists to keep hunger in the spotlight.

🚨 Nearly 3.5 million people in Ebola-affected areas of #DRC face Crisis-level hunger or worse. Conflict and displacement have already stretched families to the limit. WFP is providing food and nutrition assistance so patients and families can remain in treatment or isolation while meeting their basic needs. Learn more from Country Director David Stevenson ⤵️

Good news from #Gaza: children are back in learning spaces, with fresh fruit to keep them healthy and focused. Seeing them was the highlight of my visit. But with the lack of commercial access over the past week, this progress is under threat. We mustn’t lose it.

As the olive harvest begins, Palestinians in the #WestBank face settler violence, demolitions, economic collapse and now hunger is rising too. Food insecurity doubled and funding gaps have forced @WFP to cut half of those we assist. The world must step up diplomacy and resources.

Now is not the time for support and attention to drop. It is the time to step up, protect the gains made in Gaza, sustain the programs that have helped push back famine, and help families rebuild their lives.

Life in Gaza remains brutal. WFP is being forced to cut monthly assistance for half a million Palestinians just as winter begins, when we should be scaling up. Near one of the meal kitchens in Gaza, I spoke with @AP about what this means for families.

The weapons may have changed, but the rules have not. Parties to conflict must still abide by IHL. At today’s #Brussels aid worker protection conference: we need systematic state backing and an end to impunity, in words and action. Thanks @eu_echo and @Ireland2026EU for convening
