If there is an antichrist, it has to be Islam… REMEMBER ASIA BIBI — 8 YEARS ON DEATH ROW FOR DRINKING WATER. This is the face of Christian persecution in Pakistan. Asia Bibi, a poor Christian farmworker, mother of 5, was working in the fields of Punjab in June 2009. It was hot. She was thirsty. She walked to the well and drank water from an old metal cup lying nearby. That's it. Her Muslim co-workers said: "Christians are unclean. You have contaminated our water by drinking from our cup." An argument broke out. Days later, a mob accused her of "insulting Prophet Muhammad" — blasphemy. Pakistan's blasphemy law: Section 295C — death by hanging. She was arrested, beaten by a mob, sentenced to death in 2010. She spent 8 years, 8 months in solitary confinement on death row. In a tiny, windowless cell. Waiting to be hanged. What happened to those who defended her? *Governor Salman Taseer* — the Governor of Punjab — visited her in prison and said the law was unjust. Weeks later, his own bodyguard, Mumtaz Qadri, shot him 27 times in Islamabad and was celebrated as a hero by thousands. Minorities Minister Shahbaz Bhatti, a Christian, also called for her release — assassinated in broad daylight, riddled with bullets. In October 2018, Pakistan's Supreme Court finally acquitted her — saying the case was built on lies. What happened? TENS OF THOUSANDS rioted. Cities burned. Highways blocked. They demanded her head. A fatwa: Kill her. A poll found *10 MILLION Pakistanis said they would personally kill her* if they could. Her lawyer, Saif-ul-Malook, had to flee to the Netherlands under death threats. Asia hid for 6 months in safe houses, under army protection. In May 2019, she finally escaped. Canada granted her asylum. Just for drinking water. This is not "extremism." This is blasphemy law in Pakistan today. In 2024 alone, over 200 blasphemy cases filed. Christians, Hindus, Ahmadiyyas live under constant threat — a cup of water can become a death sentence. If this doesn't make you angry, nothing will.bRemember her name. Share her story. The world must not forget. Asia Bibi is alive today because the world spoke up. Pray for the Christians still in Pakistan's blasphemy prisons tonight. Source: Supreme Court of Pakistan Judgement 2018, BBC, Amnesty International, Asia Bibi memoir "Enfin Libre!"

RT @SayidAhmedYEG: AM I A DEI HIRE? What a terrible question to have hanging over someone’s career simply because of the colour of their skin. Imagine spending years studying, working hard, making sacrifices and earning your qualifications, only to have someone quietly wonder whether you got the job because of your abilities, or you are another DEI hire?” Think about how insulting that is. Years of hard work and achievement reduced to race. And here’s the cruel irony: policies intended to empower minorities can sometimes leave them having to defend the very success they worked so hard to achieve. Let’s be clear. Racism and discrimination exist everywhere you go in the world. And for sure, civilized societies must confront them. And I believe many people who support DEI genuinely want to create a fairer society. But good intentions don’t always produce good outcomes, and we should be willing to question whether our approach is helping or hurting. I want an Alberta where every child can grow up believing something simple: If I work hard, develop my abilities and earn my qualifications, I will have a fair opportunity to succeed. Not because someone owes me a position. Not because an institution needs someone who looks like me. And certainly not because my background should define what others expect of me. But because I have something valuable to contribute. That’s what true inclusion should mean. Creating a fair opportunity for people to enter the room, contribute, succeed and be respected without anyone questioning why they’re there. That is why I wholeheartedly welcome Premier Danielle Smith’s government decision to introduce legislation aimed at putting merit and qualifications at the centre of public-sector hiring. Credit where credit is due! The Premier is bringing an important debate about merit, fairness and individual dignity into the open. We should NOT lower the bar but definitely remove the barriers. That’s exactly what this legislation is going to fix. DEI is nothing but replace discrimination with another form of unfairness. And don’t reduce anyone’s achievements to their race. Your skin colour is part of who you are. It should never be the explanation for what you’ve achieved. That’s the Alberta I believe in. And that’s why I support Premier Danielle Smith’s proposed public-sector hiring reforms. I admire her courage in tackling an issue that too often gets buried under political correctness and fear of controversy. Whether people agree with every detail or not, this is a debate worth having. Leadership sometimes means having the courage to challenge conventional thinking, ask uncomfortable questions and stand up for what you believe is right, even when it isn’t politically convenient. That’s the kind of courage I respect in Premier Smith. And that’s why I support her.

RT @ShannonStubbsMP: By voting against Bill C-264, the Liberals voted to keep barriers that block new energy exports and leave Canada dependent on the U.S. market. Lifting the tanker ban would help open our West Coast to new opportunities, attract investment, and create well-paying jobs. Canadian workers deserve a government that backs their livelihoods and gets Canadian energy to our allies.

I was in a store and discovered they were having a sale on Dungeness crab (YUM). Having spent my formative years in San Francisco—where I would eat a hot Dungeness crab literally on the dock of the bay along with sourdough bread—I leaned over the counter to pick a few of them for my cart, for old times' sake. A retired Canadian man unfamiliar with this sort of crab came over and asked me some questions, how to cook them, etc., etc. We had a nice chat and I left with four Dungeness crab in my cart. It just so happened that the two of us met up again at the checkout aisle (no, he wasn't grocery store stalking me). He pointed to the crabs in my cart and said very proudly, "In the end, I decided not to get them...they're from the USA." I did smile politely even though I think that's crazy. but I'm determined to reintegrate sanity back into the Canadian political dialogue, so I said, "Oh, I love America and Americans. Sure beats having China as a strategic partner. Anyway, Trump is president of the USA and serves Americans. He owes us NOTHING. But Carney owes the Canadian people a trade deal and he's failed miserably." The man thought about this for a moment. "I still don't want to buy American," he said. "Fair enough," I laughed nicely, "But I'll be feasting on Dungeness crab tonight! Anyway, you need to read my book: CORPORATE COMMUNISM—Feeling Good Doing Evil. We're being played, my friend. Canadians are being played." You could see the wheels spinning in his head and then he said he'd look up the book. With that, we wished each other well and went on our way. And no, he was not a raging maniac like the guy on the left of this grok-created image. But he was busy feeling good doing evil by mindlessly supporting a prime minister who is leading the charge in losing tens of thousands of mostly working class jobs.

The Parti Québécois wants to ban religious symbols for elementary school students. Today, the Minister of Education said that it’s a “non negotiable”, just weeks after the election. If adopted, this measure would mark a new low in the violation of fundamental rights and the targeting of religious minorities in Canada. An obsession with how people choose to dress is one thing. Targeting children for who they are is an entirely different matter, evoking some of the darkest chapters in our own history as a country. If this measure moves forward, we will challenge it in court through every legal avenue available. We will never accept attacks on children and their rights. Not in Quebec. Not anywhere in Canada. If anything should be “non-negotiable”, it is the protection of children and their fundamental rights.
