@rshawnm: Nashville, ya’ll!
What an incredible week for family medicine! As we wrap up
@aafp Family Medicine Experience (FMX) 2026, I’m leaving Nashville inspired, energized, optimistic about the future of family medicine.
FMX is more than a conference. It’s an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, exchange ideas, advance our knowledge, celebrate our profession, and reaffirm the purpose that called us to family medicine. And because we were in Music City, I even had the opportunity to learn to play the drums! I’m not quite ready to join a band, but it was a great reminder that there’s always something new to learn.
To the thousands of family physicians, residents, students, speakers, exhibitors, and partners who joined us, thank you! Your passion, engagement, and commitment to improving the health of patients and communities are what make FMX such a special experience.
To Team AAFP, thank you for the extraordinary work that went into making this week possible. Your dedication to our members and our mission was evident in every detail.
To
@RichRedmond, thank you for hosting our Main Stage and bringing energy and entertainment to our event.
To the City of Nashville, the
@OmniHotels Nashville and
@musiccitycenter- thank you. The city showed out and your partnership in our events allowed us to bring this incredible event to life for our members and attendees.
We face real challenges in health care, but gatherings like FMX remind me of the strength, resilience, and extraordinary potential of our discipline. The future of family medicine is bright because of the people who are shaping it every day.
Thank you, Nashville, for an unforgettable week. See you at FMX 2027 - sunny San Diego!
