One of the most fun things about Callosum has been to build partnerships with the best hardware companies on earth to work together on building entirely new heterogeneous system! Massive thanks to all the folks at @cerebras @Rebellions_inc @dMatrix_AI @intel @NormalComputing @nvidia @Supermicro @awscloud @SambaNovaAI @AxeleraAI @CorticalLabs and many more (all listed in the blog) for partnering with us!

With our $100M seed round, we announce our first wave of global compute partnerships, flagship among them @CerebrasSystems. Partnerships spanning silicon, infrastructure and geography. The path to intelligence that is orders-of-magnitude better, cheaper, and more sovereign.

RT @EricElmoznino: Couldn't be happier to announce my new paper on defining compositional structure — and generating it! I see this project as the culmination of my PhD, as it unifies all my interests: compositionality, compression, structure, and open-endedness. More below!

RT @CallosumAI: We have been named in the Budget’s prospectus 2026, as one of the most strategically important companies backed by the UK government. We’re building heterogeneous compute: bringing different AI chips and models together into complete systems. Thank you to the @UKSovereignAI and @ARIA_research. We are just getting started.

RT @CallosumAI: Our CTO @achterbrain joined @nvidia on stage at the start-up day of GTC Berlin, alongside Clara Cornu, @talfanevans, @nouralhassan and Matteo Sarcinella. He discussed how Callosum runs heterogeneous workloads efficiently across every generation and type of NVIDIA hardware, and what it takes to scale new technology companies fast in Europe. Thanks for having us @nvidia

RT @UKSovereignAI: We’ve already backed some of the most ambitious AI companies being built in Britain. From AI infrastructure and safety to science and new technologies, our portfolio spans some of the most exciting areas of AI, all with ambitious founders building from the UK. Let’s hear from a few of the companies we’ve backed so far. @CallosumAI | Augur | @Basecamp_Res

RT @WoodingtonBen: We’ve raised a $45m Series A, co-led by @foundersfund and The @OpenAI Startup Fund, to build cancer therapy that learns. Technology is rapidly changing medicine, but data loops and rapid adjustments are still largely missing. When you start cancer treatment, knowing whether what you’re doing is working is too slow. Clearly there is a better way. Build systems to watch cancer in real time, then feed that data into a system that itself can treat the disease. This seeds a future where, unlike drugs, we develop medicine that continuously learns to improve itself. We've been building neurotechnology and BCI platforms to do just that. @coherenceneuro

RT @Ronanchamberss: how can you not be bullish on Kanishka? - calls out bullshit - knows his shit - knows what he doesn't know - stays curious - gets shit done (very quickly and all the time) - he's always right at the centre of where he should be When we interviewed him yesterday The Minister reminded me that there will come a time when he is no longer in that position, it made me sad, and I told him.

UK AI Minister @KanishkaNarayan in response to the call for a ban on Super-Intelligence in the UK after an open-letter was circulated by 40 MP's to stop AI: "We don't have super-intelligence in this country. We actually, as you say, don't have a position to be able to do so anytime soon. The most effective thing we can do is build the capability to test and understand risks that others are perpetrating as a result of them building it." "Harden defenses. Huge uplift needed in our cyber capabilities to defend ourselves...convene the world, as we will do in the run-up to the G20, to be able to shape others' destinies through our values, and ultimately build in Britain over the long term." "When I think about the political conversation I sort of feel like people want to just pull whatever lever they can see rather than the lever that actually ends up making a difference in the real world." "This isn't about being pro-regulation or anti-regulation. For me, it's not a question of what's the tactical mechanism. It's a question of what's going to drive change in the world."

Today’s guest is @achterbrain , co-founder and CTO of @CallosumAI . Jascha’s bet is that the future of compute is heterogeneous: different chips working together on different parts of a problem. Beyond the multichip future, we discuss: - What neuroscience taught Jascha about designing computing systems - How chipmakers discover what their hardware is best at - Where thermodynamic, biological, and quantum computing could fit - Hiring people who welcome having their ideas challenged - Building an AI infrastructure company in London Timestamps: 0:00 Introduction 2:55 What heterogeneous computing actually means 11:02 From PhD research to Callosum 18:36 Turning heterogeneous compute into a product 23:24 Sourcing compute and working with chipmakers 28:53 Matching workloads to the right hardware 34:24 What heterogeneous computing can do today 38:29 The next waves of chips 48:02 Building the team 51:33 Why build in London? 56:11 Helping enterprises upgrade their compute stacks 1:01:04 Fundraising and building momentum 1:03:40 Where specialization wins, and where it doesn’t Listen to the show, and follow along for new episodes every Tuesday.

RT @mattbotvinick: My book, AI and Political Freedom, is out today. It argues that AI safety isn’t only a technical and regulatory problem. No matter what measures we take on those fronts, AI won’t be safe unless we also reinforce the foundations of constitutional democracy. The book lays out specific steps for ensuring that political freedom survives alongside powerful AI. Link in the first reply.
