Paul Merson: “Every Fleetwood player in that dressing room will come in tomorrow & they’ll be going, ‘What a player Ødegaard is, he’s unreal’. You wouldn’t say that about the others. They gave their all, but that’s expected, you have to perform!” ❌ [Sky]

Mikel Arteta has given a worrying injury update following Arsenal’s shock Carabao Cup fourth round exit to Fleetwood Town tonight. ❌🤕 Read the full story below. ⤵️

Mikel Arteta on Max Dowman being ‘targeted’: “When we prepared the context of the match, we were very clear on the things to expect, the things that emotionally we have to dominate.” 🗣️ “What did you say when he went down the tunnel?” Mikel Arteta: “Something we discussed before the game.”

Mikel Arteta: “Attitude wise, I have zero [complaints], otherwise I would be here absolutely fuming. I’m sad, I think we are all sad. It was nothing to do with effort, application or determination to win, but we lacked other things to create much bigger margins.” ❌ [Sky]

Mikel Arteta on Max Dowman’s red card: “It’s difficult to see on the cameras, so I prefer to watch it back properly & then I can assess the situation. Yes [he’ll learn from this], we all learn from everything.” 🤔🟥

Mikel Arteta: “We gave Fleetwood almost nothing the whole game. We created so many chances & didn’t capitalise on that. Then, the margins become so small, this is football, that’s the beauty of this competition. It’s a very sad day.” ❌🏆 🎥 @SkyFootball

Mikel Arteta: “First of all, congratulations to Fleetwood. It’s a really sad day for us. I can’t fault the attitude of the players, I haven’t seen anybody not doing what is required at this level. We had so many chances & if you want the margins to be bigger than going to penalties, you need to capitalise on that & we didn’t.” ❌😤 [Sky]
