The eagle cuts across it in a great diagonal swoosh, a gesture so instantly recognizable it approaches a corporate logo. Nature becomes an emblem of speed, sovereignty and predation. Yet Mills allows the image to betray its own manufacture. Along the wings, the silhouette fractures into crude stair-steps; green-black residues cling to the contours like remnants of a discarded reality. She herself achieves a peculiar pictorial equilibrium: the monumental and the degraded, the organic and the synthetic, held together by the friction between a commanding silhouette and its visibly unstable digital perimeter.
