HOW TO PUBLISH YOUR VIBECODED APP ON THE APP STORE & GOOGLE PLAY
Building an app with AI is getting ridiculously easy.
But getting it into the App Store or Google Play, passing review, and actually monetizing it is a different story.
Here’s a practical guide to what you need to know before launching your first AI-built app.
1. DEVELOPER ACCOUNTS
Google Play:
• $25 one-time registration fee
App Store:
• $99/year for the Apple Developer Program
Both platforms require identity verification.
Depending on your country, you may need additional documents or a registered business to receive payments.
2. GOOGLE PLAY REQUIREMENTS
New personal developer accounts may need to:
• Verify their identity and address
• Confirm access to a real Android device
• Run a closed test with at least 12 testers for 14 consecutive days
• Apply for production access after completing the test
You'll also need a privacy policy, app rating, icon, screenshots, and a properly completed store listing.
3. APP STORE REQUIREMENTS
Before submitting your app, prepare:
• A privacy policy and terms of use
• App screenshots and store listing
• Developer account verification
• App review and compliance with Apple's guidelines
Apple may also request additional verification during enrollment.
4. APP STORE FEES
You won't keep 100% of your app revenue.
Apple:
• Standard commission: 30%
• Small Business Program: 15% for eligible developers
Google Play:
• Fees vary by transaction type and program
• Subscriptions and in-app purchases may have different rates
Always check the current fee structure for your region and business model.

If you have an Apple developer account or an app in the App Store, read this now and share it.
Apple rejects your app. The notice is vague, so you fix what you reasonably think is wrong and resubmit.
Apple approves it.
Months later, with nothing in review, Apple terminates your account under 3.2(f) for “a pattern of manipulative or misleading behavior.” Every app gone. No explanation of what you did.
Your crime? Trusting the approval.
Apple’s own reviewer looked at your fix, with your rejection history in front of them, and said yes. Then Apple turned that yes into evidence against you.
So who’s misleading whom?
I ran App Review for seven years and wrote the guidelines. 3.2(f) used to mean real fraud. Now it’s being used against developers who did exactly what Apple approved.
