Europe’s skies have become battlefields. Russia seeks to intimidate. It will not succeed. ✅️ At today’s @NATO FUSE event in Riga, I welcomed the announcement of the first two European Drone Technology Hubs, which will help bring drone and counter-drone technologies from the lab to the field. ➡️ Read my remarks here:

IonQ의 Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing(FTQC) 로드맵에서 빠져 있던 중요한 퍼즐 하나를 채운 사건에 가깝다. #IonQ #Decoder #FTQC
    TechInnovation @TechInnovationz
$IONQ ran real-time error correction on a single off-the-shelf CPU. Qubits pick up errors from their surroundings, constantly. A classical computer has to find those errors and fix them while the quantum machine runs. It is called the decoder, and when it falls behind, the quantum computer stops and waits for it. IonQ announced today that its decoder kept up, from end to end, on one processor. The paper went up on arXiv on August 25, signed Min Ye, Andrii Maksymov and Nicolas Delfosse. What they measured: ➡️ 408 logical qubits, in 68 memory blocks and 20 magic state factories, 11,680 physical qubits in all ➡️ 555,130 T gates and 1.3 million logical measurements, across 31.5 million rounds of error checking ➡️ 0.02% "stretch", the extra time the decoding cost that computation ➡️ under 0.3% on all three test workloads at the error rate they assume, under 12% if that rate is five times worse ➡️ the hardware: a 2024 Apple M4 Max, the chip in a MacBook Pro, 12 of its 16 cores IonQ splits the job between two decoders on the same chip. One runs continuously over the error data. A lighter one wakes up for each logical measurement, where the answer is needed fastest. Both are built on the beam search decoder Ye, Delfosse and Dave Wecker published in December, now out in PRX Quantum. Nicolas Delfosse, paper co-author and quantum research lead at IonQ, says a decoder that runs on a single CPU "provides a practical path to commercial-scale fault-tolerant quantum computing". The quantum computer here is simulated, noise included. The decoding is real work, timed on real silicon. IonQ reads the result as validation of a pillar of its Walking Cat architecture: the classical side does not have to grow exponentially as the machine gets wider in logical qubits or deeper in operations. John Gamble, VP of Architecture at IonQ, says the numbers IonQ steers by are time to solution, cost to solution and energy to solution. The release calls the result a foundation for the roadmap beyond 256 physical qubits, toward thousands. Congratulations to Min Ye, Andrii Maksymov and Nicolas Delfosse, and to the people they thank in the paper: Felix Tripier, Nolan Coble, Jacob Young, Finn Buessen, John Gamble and the whole IonQ team. 🔗 #IonQ #Quantum #QEC

Deepseek v4.1 Flash 1017 hitting as high as 72 tok/s decode on repetitive tokens 366 GB total (3.9 bpw w/ Engram table, ~2.3 bpw without). 2.25 bpw experts, ~4 bpw dense. Holding 0.045 KLD and 94% top-1 vs. the original FP8 checkpoint per upstream tests. Powered on 2x AMD Gorgons. One @FrameworkPuter @AIatAMD via USB4 on a specialized modified Strix engine. Original engine by @KireiStudios Gorgon modifications by me. So far MiniMax 3.1 Flash and Deepseek V4.1 Flash 1017 both work really well. Next up: Qwen 3.8 Flash Next

MiniMax H3 VAE shootout on my 5090. Same frozen latents, only the VAE changes. Timing is VAE decode only. My numbers (1344x768, 124 frames, warm median of 7): - Stock FP16: 10.84 s - Stock INT8: 4.63 s - Sol INT8: 1.78 s (2.60x vs Stock INT8) - Sol FP16: 3.58 s - LightVAE Lite INT8: 1.88 s (2.47x) Quality vs Stock FP16 decode (PSNR / SSIM / LPIPS) plus frame-by-frame review: - Stock INT8: 61.4 dB, you will not see it - Sol: 37.3 dB, LPIPS 0.013 - LightVAE Lite: 32.8 dB, LPIPS 0.049, blocky on fast motion Honest take: Sol INT8 is a different, distilled decoder, so it never matches stock pixel for pixel. But on fast motion it is actually cleaner, because stock shows its 256 px decode tiles. It costs about 1 GiB more VRAM than Stock INT8 (4.3 vs 3.3 GiB). All local. ComfyUI, Sol support by @Kijaidesign (PR #17411), Sol-H3-VAE by NVIDIA Efficient-Large-Model, H3 by @MiniMax_AI. Which VAE stays true to you and is worth the speedup?

Putin is hailing Russia's "liberation" of Mariupol after his forces completely destroyed during a two-month siege. He told defense minister Sergei Shoigu to block off the Azovstal metallurgical plant, where the last Ukrainian troops are holed up, "so that a fly can't get in."
