Big win for local LLM inference! This open-source engine generates tokens 2.7x faster than Ollama on a MacBook: I tested it on a base M5 MacBook Pro with Qwen3.5 4B at 4-bit and the same 9.2k-token prompt. Ollama ran its MTP build, so both had speculative decoding. - Prefill: Ollama 464 tok/s, Magnitude 755 tok/s (1.6x) - Decode: Ollama 22.6 tok/s, Magnitude 60.0 tok/s (2.7x) - End to end, Magnitude finished in half the time The video below shows both runs side by side. The Ollama numbers don’t mean it’s badly built. Its kernels were simply tuned in advance. A kernel is the small GPU program behind every matrix multiply and attention step. Its speed depends on choices like how work is split across GPU cores and how data moves through memory. The best choices change with every chip. Apple Silicon alone spans 8 to 80 GPU cores and under 70 to over 800 GB/s of bandwidth, and every model has its own layer sizes. A prebuilt engine has to pick one set of settings for all of them, so most local setups run on a compromise. Magnitude replaces that compromise with tuning on your machine: ↳ When you download a model, it compiles that model’s kernels locally. ↳ It tries different kernel configurations and keeps whichever runs fastest on your chip. ↳ It pairs each model with the fastest speculative decoding drafter it has found, so each pass of the model produces more than one token. GitHub repo: (don’t forget to star it 🌟) This matters most for agents. Every file and tool output has to be processed before the model writes anything, and that prefill step is where kernel efficiency shows up. Concurrent sessions also share prefix caches, so parallel agents don’t slow each other down. Magnitude is an open-source (Apache 2.0) inference engine written in Rust. It plugs into Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Pi and other agents with one click. I shared the GitHub repo above.925550437.3K

🚨 Hedge funds are pulling money out of the stock market at the fastest pace ever recorded. Morgan Stanley's prime brokerage data shows they have cut their total stock positions by more than 8% from the recent peak. That's the biggest cut since the data began in 2016. It's bigger than the 2020 COVID crash and the 2021 GameStop squeeze. Most of it has hit AI stocks: • Goldman Sachs says hedge funds sold AI stocks for 5 straight days, from Oct 8 to Oct 14. That wiped out all the AI buying they had done since the start of 2025. • They sold the stocks they owned about 3.5x faster than they added new bets against them, so most of this is funds leaving the trade, not shorting it. • Morgan Stanley's AI stock basket fell 18% in October, while the average US stock rose about 2%. • Memory stocks like Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron and SanDisk lost more than $700 billion in seven trading days. SK Hynix had its worst week since 2008. Is this the first sign the AI trade is breaking?1233972.2K290K

Claude Code really charged $131 to build a train that looks like a refrigerator on rails 😭 Meanwhile Kimi and GPT built an entire cinematic bullet train scene for $19 and $54 Same prompt, 4 AI workflows The final bill 🥇 Kimi K3.1 : $19 / 5 min 🥈 GPT 6 Astra : $54 / 15 min 🥉 Blender MCP : $87 / 24 min 💀 Claude 3.7 Sonnet : $131 / 38 min Kimi was almost 7x cheaper and 7.6x faster in this comparison And somehow the cheapest result has the city lights, reflections and atmosphere you’d actually want in a cinematic render bro imagine paying $131 two years ago just to invent the world’s fastest microwaveLummox @Lummox_eth7820406107K

We're redefining the SDLC for the agentic era. Lots of GitHub updates this morning at Universe: • GitHub Copilot Fusion delivers frontier-level quality, 40% faster and at up to 77% lower cost • Our unified Copilot harness is now in Foundry, a managed service for building long-running agents that reason, use tools, and get work done • Copilot Projects gives you an orchestration loop to build with multiple agents across repos And we’re expanding capacity and strengthening GitHub’s architecture to make the home of agentic development more resilient.1892021.6K242K
Want even more evidence that @Tesla FSD is going mainstream? Here’s 2016 F1 World Champion Nico Rosberg after recently trying FSD (Supervised) for the first time: "It's been LIFE-CHANGING! My scarcest resource currently is time. And now, I was able to get some of that time back on the commute. By the evening, it actually felt like I'd won back half a working day!! I even had a mini date with my wife on the drive. My whole racing career, I was the one in control behind the wheel. But I'm now fully willing to hand over control!! It’s crazy that 75% of new Teslas delivered in North America last quarter came with FSD. In Europe, we’re still way behind on this tech. And we for sure need to move faster!!" Apple ships one of the fastest, highest-capacity free object stores in the world and nobody is using it. Inspired by @ironseth_s I found a way to get ~12 TB for $0. Paying $0.023/GB for AWS S3 is a skill issue. Use icloud as s3 as the goat of object stores. 284x faster than r2. Seth, let's add this to your stack!971183.1K467K
