Getting ready for my coordinate sort activity tomorrow. If you have students new to plotting points in all four quadrants, give it a go! #iteachmath #HRCEmath

Playing around with pull-up nets this evening. #HRCEmath #ITeachMath

Although “Becoming the Math Teacher You Wish You’d Had” PD is over, these teachers will continue to spread the message and their learning. Way to go! @TracyZager @OSullivanSonya @DenisejMac #HRCEmath @HRCE_Official #BecomingMath

An Odd One Out self checking activity for arithmetic and geometric sequences. #HRCEMath

I love @MathigonOrg for so many reasons. Today it was the ohhh's and ahhh's as we tested nets to create 3D objects. The engagement! The learning! 😍🤓🥰 The creativity, extensions, and level of difficulty handled today would not have been possible without polypad. #hrcemath

After a few days of #fractiontalks it's time for Two Truths & A Lie Fraction Edition! Each group of 3 students presented their convincing proof at the end of our 10 prompt rotation. Great conversations! 😍 @FractionTalks #iteachmath #HRCEmath Try it!

So fun to introduce a new group of learners to the fraction squares by @FractionTalks ...and talk we did! #iteachmath #HRCEmath

Solving the "Paper Bag Mystery" using systems of linear equations with Math 10 students and @Ms_Jash at @islandviewhigh today. How many bottles of glue and sticky notes are in each bag? @MaryBourassa #HRCEmath #ITeachMath

How do you make the surface area of a cylinder more concrete? #HRCEmath #iteachmath

Anyone want to test a Row Game for me? 🤞 I don't trust my eyes anymore to find errors! 😬 I am hoping solutions in each level of the table match, enough info is given, and directions make sense. Thanks! #iteachmath #HRCEmath

Just added a new entry to my weekly math challenge slide deck. Inspired by an activity found in the Proportional Reasoning book seen here, this challenge has students finding one whole when given a fractional amount. Try it! #iteachmath #HRCEmath

After using formulas for a while students might just be plugging numbers in. Today I wanted to make sure students really understood the formulas. I gave them the formula...they drew an object to match. #iteachmath #HRCEmath #makingmathmeaningful #mathchat

Ideas for at home base ten materials! Used materials I had around the house 🏡 Popsicle sticks would be great as well and there are so many other options. #HRCEmath

There's something about @openmiddle problems that make everyone want to give it a go. Problems like this build persistence and confidence. And hearing students proudly share their process and path to success? Pure gold. #HRCEmath This problem found here:

Calculus students in Ms. Procopio’s class were exploring hands on related rates. One of my favourite lessons! @Mathematicspro #HRCEmath

Studying stats for your #HRCEmath exam? Mean age of 20 sledders at the park before I arrived… about 6.3. Mean age of sledders after I arrived… about 8.4. What’s my age? #ITeachMath

What is the same? What is different? Making mathematical connections for students as we start multiplying binomials in Math 10. #HRCEmath #ITeachMath #samediffmath

Getting ready for 2 Truths & a Lie (Fraction Edition) tomorrow with @vtargett. Thanks for the fraction squares @FractionTalks! Such a fun way to activate prior knowledge, generate good conversations, and kick off our fraction unit. #iteachmath #HRCEmath #MtHolyokeMath

The best multiplication charts are made for students by students. Instead of just facts...why not have a visual? Make facts meaningful. #iteachmath #HRCEmath

Are you teaching #DividingIntegers this week? Check out the latest issue of Play...Persist...Prove, my newsletter for math teachers. I hope there's an idea inside you can use with your students. #HRCEmath #iteachmath #mtbos #mathchat
