New from @arcinstitute: using the latent space representation of genomes from single-cell life to find new candidate functional RNAs. I think this is cool because: (1) it uses deep learning and model interpretability to productive ends on a totally different kind of "knowledge"; (2) it shows how agents may be able to accelerate discovery in vast combinatoric spaces; and (3) it's an example of the synergy we'll hopefully see in the coming years between computational techniques and wet lab biology.

Delighted to share a landmark preprint from our lab, using genome language models and AI agents for biological discovery and genome mining! The stretches of DNA between protein-coding genes are often called the genome’s “dark matter,” but they are far from empty. They encode RNA molecules that sense metabolites, regulate genes, and control some of molecular biology's most important tools (such as programmable genome editors e.g. CRISPR/bridge) Much of this biology is unexplored. One reason is that RNAs can retain similar structures and functions even as their DNA sequences change dramatically, making their relationships difficult to recognize with conventional computational tools

‼️New theoretical results in AI interpretability 🧠💻 The J-lens from @wesg52 , @Jack_W_Lindsey, @AnthropicAI found evidence for a ‘global workspace’ in LLMs. But how? Our results clarify that the J-lens captures slow, coherent features:
    Anthropic @AnthropicAI
New Anthropic research: A global workspace in language models. Of everything happening in your brain right now, only a tiny fraction is consciously accessible—thoughts you can describe, hold in mind, and reason with. We found a strikingly similar divide inside Claude.

Really cool what would be cooler (actually, mind-blowing final triumph of interpretability) is generalized data+training method that can encourage modular "computers" to form inside models naturally… maybe one day.

So one of our ambassadors @divagr1925 has been working on something cool He found a way to use Qwen's Gated DeltaNet state as memory, and built a 32-bit RISC-V CPU directly into the model's weights. So instead of relying on predicting the answer to a calculation, the model can execute instructions internally. It can also run C and MicroPython programs. He calls it Qwenputer, love the name btw. The results so far are pretty impressive. On one arithmetic benchmark, accuracy jumped from 48.6% to 100%. Pretty cool to see developers experimenting with Qwen's architecture. Great work, my friend!

The future of digital assets is unified and interoperable. Upgrade to a multi-ledger asset, only on Quant Fusion, the world’s first Layer 2.5 multi-ledger rollup built for true cross-chain interoperability. #MultiledgerRollup #Layer25 #Interoperability #QuantFusion

Issue Once. Use Everywhere. With Fusion’s multi-ledger rollup, institutions can now issue truly interoperable assets native across multiple blockchains. A stablecoin or tokenised fiat asset no longer needs to be minted, burned, or wrapped just to function across different layer 1 networks. Instead of handling separate token representations across Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, and others, Fusion merges them into a single, unified multi-ledger asset. This creates a new unified liquidity layer, removing fragmentation and enabling seamless cross-chain utility. And this capability isn’t just limited to institutions. Any asset, whether issued by a project, protocol, or developer, can now go multi-chain. Explore the latest Fusion Devnet implementation, with Testnet and Mainnet on the horizon: 👉 #MultiledgerRollup #Layer25 #Interoperability #QuantFusion

The most ambitious vision for interpretability has long been to reverse-engineer a model well enough to answer an arbitrary question about how it works. For years, that’s seemed out of reach. Now, we think it’s possible. Neural networks are cleaner than we thought: we can now understand most neurons in models up to trillions of parameters. And agents can rapidly accelerate our progress. But to get there, we need a concerted effort to unlock scaling laws for interpretability, where our understanding of a model grows predictably with compute. That’s why we’re committing $10M to start a Human Genome Project for AI. Our ultimate goal is to reverse-engineer a frontier scale model and publish a living encyclopedia explaining how it works. We don’t know exactly what we’ll find, and we can’t do it alone. We hope you’ll join us. Our chief scientist @banburismus_ lays out the vision here:
