🚨 WARNING: SOMETHING EXTREMELY BAD JUST HAPPENED A U.S. startup has successfully produced the FIRST REAL LAB-GROWN GOLD. And its process already beat CERN’s gold production by 10X. And they are not stopping there. Their model says a future 1 GW fusion plant could produce around 2 TONNES OF GOLD PER YEAR. This changes everything: For thousands of years, gold had one advantage nobody could replicate: SCARCITY. New supply could only come from finding more deposits, building more mines and pulling more metal out of the ground. Now technology is attacking that assumption directly. And we have already seen what happens when technology destroys a scarcity premium. DIAMONDS. Lab-grown diamonds entered the market: - Production scaled. - Prices collapsed. Natural diamonds suddenly had to compete with something chemically almost identical that could be produced at a fraction of the cost. Gold could now be facing the same problem. But this could be much bigger: Gold is not just jewelry. Central banks hold it. Governments hold it. ETFs hold it. Investors use it as a store of value. And entire reserve strategies depend on one assumption: YOU CANNOT JUST MANUFACTURE MORE GOLD. That assumption is now being challenged. And here is the part almost nobody understands: Marathon is not talking about building factories that exist only to make gold. Gold could become a BY-PRODUCT OF FUSION ENERGY. The reactor generates energy. It also generates neutrons. Those neutrons can convert mercury into gold. And the gold itself could help make fusion plants more profitable. Now connect the dots: More fusion plants → more gold production → more gold revenue → better fusion economics → even more reactors Gold supply has always been limited by GEOLOGY. If fusion scales, it becomes limited by REACTOR CAPACITY. And markets will NOT wait until tonnes of lab-grown gold are sitting inside vaults. They will price the expectation first. That is exactly how the diamond repricing started. And if fusion gold becomes commercially viable at scale... THE GOLD MARKET WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN. Remember, I’ve been trading markets for over 15 years. When I see the next major shift developing, I’ll post it here publicly like I always do. Turn notifications on. If you’re not following yet, you’ll understand why that was a mistake later.

Today we’re out of stealth, and we’ve raised a $40m seed round co-led by @creandum and @usv, to bring Instant Robot Learning to life. For the past few months, we‘ve been busy building a new company. Machenta. This follows results from a new kind of robot foundation model we’ve built, which I’m so excited to share with you today! Usually, it takes hours/days of data collection and training to teach a robot. We’ve built a model that learns tasks instantly: one demonstration, no further training. A model trained entirely in simulation, without a single pixel of real-world data. A model where teaching robots is so quick and easy, it feels like physical vibe coding. A model for robots that learn like humans do, from someone like you. Welcome to the era of Instant Robot Learning. Thank you @Kathi_Wilhelm, @rebeccakaden, @hkanji, @jonno_evans and all of our angels for your support! @Machenta_ Learn more: See below for what you can do with Instant Robot Learning!

Just wondering... how many Tesla Cybercabs do you plan on owning? I’ve been running the numbers for a while, and I honestly think Cybercab could become one of the most exciting investment opportunities regular people have ever had. The idea of owning a car that earns money while I’m home with my family is something I can’t stop thinking about these days... However, I know the numbers have to work. Here’s the scenario I’m working with, assuming I buy the car outright: • Purchase price: about ~$30,000 • Average fare: $1.35 per paid mile • Average paid miles: 150 a day across the full year • Tesla’s share: an assumed 30% That works out to about $74,000 a year in fares. After Tesla’s assumed share, about $51,700 would be left before expenses. To keep roughly $30,000 a year, I’d need charging, cleaning, insurance, tires, maintenance and money set aside to eventually replace the car to fit within about $21,700. If it holds, we’re talking about roughly ~$30,000 a year per cab before income tax. Under those assumptions, the car could earn back its purchase price in about a year, which is wild imo. At $30,000 in annual earnings per cab, here’s how many you’d need to reach at least these targets. • $100K a year → 4 Cybercabs • $250K a year → 9 Cybercabs • $500K a year → 17 Cybercabs • $750K a year → 25 Cybercabs • $1M a year → 34 Cybercabs I have to let this sink in... thirty-four cars, under these assumptions, could produce just over $1 million a year before income tax. Of course, 34 cars would also be a real business to run. Like someone still has to handle cleaning, repairs, charging and all the things passengers manage to spill. I keep comparing this potential with rental property, which I also own. Buying rentals, especially here in the Bay Area, takes serious $ money. Then you have property taxes, insurance, repairs, vacancies and mortgage payments if you borrow. And occasionally, a late-night call about a broken toilet. Also takes a long time to make your $ back. In this Cybercab scenario, four cars would cost about $120,000 before taxes and setup, and could produce roughly $120,000 in just a year before income tax. That relationship between the $ money you put in and the income you get back is what makes owning a Cybercab, a major advantage. I know there are tradeoffs too, of course... a property can rise in value. A car doing tens of thousands of miles a year wears out. A Cybercab may spare you the broken toilet, but it will probably still need more attention on a daily basis. Also, one of the biggest question in my model is whether each Cybercab can consistently average 150 PAID miles a day. Driving empty to the next pickup adds costs without adding fare revenue. Charging, cleaning and repairs take time. And more competition could push fares even lower. Despite these things, there is REAL progress to look at today. Cybercabs are already carrying paying riders in Austin and expanding, and Tesla has said it’s aiming to begin customer deliveries by the end of 2026. Tesla’s broader ride-hailing service now reaches parts of seven U.S. metro areas. For me, I’d start with a couple of Cybercabs, see what they actually earn, and build toward a fleet of 25+ if the numbers hold up. I’m seriously excited for the day I get to send my own fleet out to work. I believe it’s only a matter of time before Tesla becomes the #1 robotaxi provider in the U.S.

A guy bought a Tesla Model 3 last year. $42,990. Drove it home. Plugged it in. Thought he had figured out the future. His neighbor, a former Tesla service technician who had worked on over 800 Tesla vehicles, walked over to look at it in the driveway. He sat in the passenger seat. Looked at the 15.4 inch touchscreen. Opened the settings menu. Scrolled for 45 seconds. Then turned to him. “You have 11 features on this car turned off or set wrong. Your regenerative braking is running at half capacity so you are losing free range every time you slow down. Your charging schedule is costing you money every single night. Your Autopilot is not calibrated for your driving style. You have never activated the feature that tells you exactly when to charge to save the most money based on your local electricity rates. And Tesla pushed a software update 3 months ago that added 4 new features to this exact car that you have never turned on because the notification appeared at 2am and you dismissed it.” He stared at him. “I thought I just drove it.” “You do just drive it. But this car has more software in it than most laptops. Tesla ships it with conservative defaults because they cannot predict how every driver will use it. The settings that make this car significantly better are all in the touchscreen. Most Tesla owners never find them because nobody tells them where to look.” He spent 18 minutes in the settings menu. The car he drove the next morning felt like a different vehicle. Here are every Tesla setting and feature most owners never find: 🧵
