#CallingAllVillains the paper planet idea was cute, but also PRACTICAL from a production standpoint. all the background characters can literally be copied & pasted, no need for modelling, and move around with minimal animation, so the team could focus on the main characters

I made a notes app that's honest about your files. you write like you're writing normal text. Behind the curtains it saves a real markdown file to your folder, one any editor can open.

You can use various fonts for your texts. Those are just a visual preview. underneath it's plain, proper markdown. it does plain txt too, as-is, nothing else. it also opens any .md or .txt on your disk and edits it in place.

So instead of notepad or a separate previewer, use DoIT for that readme you just want to peek at. notes go in categories you choose, drag and drop moves them between categories. native notes autosave, external files get an explicit save button.

Your computer will be some kind of dumb terminal incapable of running anything more demanding than Notepad, and you'll need to connect to a data centre to get anything done under this glorious future envisaged by the tech bros.

On my 32-thread Windows 11 PC, #notepad has 103 NVIDIA-origin threads; PaintDotNET has 443. Classic Win32 winver? 3 threads total, zero NVIDIA. My minimal Win32 app jumps from 4 to 43 threads just by adding a D3D11 swap chain. Why so many? @nvidiageforce? #nvidia #Windows11

every productivity apps these days are either a personal assistant (e.g. muse, instinct) or complete workspace (e.g. chatgpt, devin). there are also great amount of competition in the browser space (e.g. aside, dia). BUT there todos/daily notes have not been innovated much. @getcharnotes solves that. we are creating a magical notepad that you can jot things down on your terms. it will clean up old entries, remember every edits you make, and everything you do on your computer. it's basically tom riddle's diary but except ai not sorcery.
