I believe Tennessee is worth fighting for. I have always believed that. And I will never stop believing it. This was one battle for the future of our state. It was not the end of the fight. We have more work to do. More communities to organize. More voices to lift up. More people to bring into this movement. And to every volunteer, every supporter, every person who donated, knocked a door, made a phone call, hosted a gathering, or simply told a friend why this campaign mattered: thank you.

🇺🇸 I'm going to say something that won't be popular with many of you, but it needs to be said. Most Republicans in Congress, the Senate, and this administration have refused to confront what I believe is one of the most serious threats to America's future, the growing political influence of Islamism and the failure to recognize its long-term ambitions. Too many Americans remain unaware of the difference between religious freedom and political Islamism. Islamist movements seek to use political power to advance an ideology that is fundamentally at odds with many of the freedoms and principles upon which America was founded. Tonight, we may witness the consequences of that failure. The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and Islamist political activists are working together, and their political organizing demonstrates what relentless determination, discipline, and voter mobilization can accomplish. They work around the clock, build coalitions, organize communities, and make sure their supporters show up at the polls. Meanwhile, where were the Republicans in Congress? Where was the administration? Instead of helping confront the growing political influence of Islamism, the woke right has been focused on building its own political movement and pushing for a separate party. At a time when political unity and organization matter more than ever, their efforts have only contributed to further division. The Republicans failed to act. The administration failed to take the threat seriously. And the woke right was no help whatsoever. With the exception of President Trump, who has raised the issue on several occasions, far too few in the administration have been willing to confront it directly. Look at what is happening across parts of Europe, where debates over Islamist, integration, immigration, and national identity have become increasingly urgent. America cannot afford to ignore those warnings. A free nation does not lose its identity overnight. It happens when its citizens become complacent, its leaders refuse to confront difficult realities, and organized political movements face little effective opposition. Many Republicans didn't even bother to vote. (Fact) America is not immune to the challenges facing Europe. Believing that it could never happen here is exactly the kind of complacency that puts our future at risk. If tonight's election results deliver a political earthquake, don't pretend there were no warning signs. The warning signs were there. The organization was there. The determination was there. What was missing was the political courage to respond. America is worth defending. Our Constitution is worth defending. Our freedoms are worth defending. And if we refuse to defend them through the ballot box, we should not be surprised when others determine the direction of our country. THE FUTURE OF THIS NATION IS NOT GUARANTEED. 🇺🇸‼️

Immigrant rights and labor icon Dolores Huerta died Wednesday at the age of 96. Huerta co-founded the National Farm Workers Association with Cesar Chavez, representing Mexican farmworkers in California, which later merged with Filipino farmworkers with the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee to form the United Farm Workers of America. From 1965 to 1970, the union organized the historic Delano grape strike, which ended in major gains for farmworkers' labor rights. "When people think about the strike, it's very dramatic, colorful," Huerta told Democracy Now! in 2017. "But what they don't see is the three years before the strike where we organize workers in house meetings."

It's bittersweet to be announcing my campaign's endorsement from the United Farm Workers on the week of Dolores Huerta's passing. Dolores was a pioneering organizer and a tireless leader for working people. She co-founded the United Farm Workers (UFW) and dedicated her life to showing what ordinary people can win when they organize together. I came to organizing as a student, learning from leaders in the labor movement and, in some cases, getting the chance to meet them and understand their journeys. I draw inspiration from leaders like Dolores, and I am honored to announce our campaign's endorsement from the UFW. I will champion Dolores’ legacy and be a voice and a vote to protect our workers in Congress. I will be a proud partner to these unions. I will fight to pass the PRO Act, defend workers’ rights, and take our democracy back for working people, including the farmworkers who put food on our tables.

I always say, you get what you organize for. Our team organized up and down the ballot across Minnesota and the country to elect leaders who will fight for working people. And today, we’re celebrating what that organizing made possible. We flipped the Minnesota House and Senate, secured a DFL trifecta, and helped Democrats take back the U.S. House and Senate. Congratulations to Amy Klobuchar, Peggy Flanagan, Keith Ellison, Jake Johnson, Matt Little, Abdul El-Sayed, and every candidate, organizer, volunteer, and neighbor who helped make this happen. This is what people-powered organizing looks like. When working people come together, organize, and refuse to give up, we can change the direction of our country. Now let's get to work.
