Introducing the Parallel Decisions API: the first web-grounded decisions engine. Decision models like Jev can answer in an instant, but they lack the recency of current news. Now you can get both in a single call. Decisions API is live today at $0.001 per request. Try it with 5,000 free requests: Here are some examples we've been experimenting with: - Fact-check content (@Grok is this true?) - Refresh stale banking records - Classify companies and leads with fresh signals - Backtest trading strategies - Track competitor e-commerce inventory

RAG for decision models is here! Parallel just launched the Decisions API, which combines live web search with bounded decision-making in a single call. Decision models like Jev are useful when the output is small and structured: yes/no, one option from a list, a category, or a routing decision. The problem is that those decisions are only as good as the context you give them. If the answer depends on something that changed recently, or information that only exists on the web, the normal flow becomes retrieval first and decision second. Parallel brings those two steps together. You provide the state and the questions you want answered. The API searches the web, grounds the decision in what it finds, and returns the typed answer along with probability, confidence, and sources. That makes it much more useful for agent workflows where a decision depends on current external information, research tasks where the model needs to verify something before choosing an outcome, or eval pipelines where the judgment needs grounding from the web. It can also answer multiple questions against the same retrieved context in one request, instead of repeating the search for every decision. So instead of: Search → retrieve context → decision model → structured answer you can make the grounded decision directly through one API. I think this is a pretty natural extension of where decision models are going: bounded outputs are useful, but giving that decision layer access to the live web makes the set of problems it can handle much larger.

  5. Professor Oak✓@Prof_Oak_
Surprise 1: Anthropic acquired a one-person biotech . . . Surprise 2: that person is me Surprise 3: I’m here to tell you all about it Yes, this is what you think it is; after 6 yrs of increasingly loose anonymity: the Professor Oak reveal post …and yes, it has gotten so boring around here that I’m literally doxxing myself to spice up the timeline ------- Ok, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Cody Tranbarger. I mostly tweet, but occasionally find time to dabble in drug dev & starting/building biotechs. My past lives span the VC, crossover, startup continuum; Prof Oak has been my way of keeping a digital foot in those worlds, despite having my physical feet planted elsewhere. The past 18 mo, ‘elsewhere’ was Mithril Medicine, a co. I founded to develop bsAbs for LAMA2-CMD & other ECM-related genetic diseases. Mithril was born out of hands-on building with @MikeNGladstone, @JasonPaulRhodes, @LifeSciVC, & team @atlasventure. Somehow, I made enough half-decent calls along the way (even a broken clock is right twice a day, eh?) to convince them Mithril/I warranted a small seed. While I can hardly rationalize such an outrageously cavalier bet, I’m grateful for it, & I'd partner with Atlas again in a heartbeat. In typical AV fashion, Mithril’s primordial form was virtual, decentralized, & ultra-lean. This stage tends to be short-lived, but for Mithril, it worked surprisingly well, for surprisingly long, thanks in part to the rapid maturation of the AI tools I used liberally. Eventually, Mithril became a bit of an experiment itself - to find the upper bound of how far it could scale as a single operator + a bunch of Claude (+ a stellar bench of part-time consultants). In parallel, I started spending time with @nc_frey, @an1lam, & @CoefficientBio team; and promptly experienced, for the 1st time, AI at the frontier. Soon thereafter, Mithril stopped looking like an experiment, & started looking like a preview of an entirely new operating model. From that spark came “Pipeline-in-a-Person.” The idea immediately resonated when we shared it here back in April; and it was central to the shared vision that led to Anthropic’s acquisition of Mithril, & my joining the team. Why join Anthropic? Three reasons. (1) For Mithril, the programs continue, with more resources & infrastructure behind them, and as much Claude as I can put to work. (2) For me, the chance to start several more programs, & find out how many one person can actually run in parallel - an almost unprecedented luxury for a curious drug hunter. (3) For our mission, a path to institutionalize & scale this new way of working, then put it in the hands of all of biopharma, all over the world - which, candidly, I find the most energizing. Will AI x Bio cure diseases? Unequivocally yes, imo… but not by the route that gets the most airtime. Rather than timeline acceleration & compression, I see orchestration & parallelization as today's low-hanging fruit. Most drug hunters see a handful of go/no-go calls in a career, & spend entirely too much of the rest trading emails (my inbox can attest). Give them the bandwidth to run several programs at once, and the time to focus on scientific judgment, and I’m willing to bet they’ll make better calls. And at scale, better calls translate to more drugs, higher hit rates, broader patient impact, & likely, a disease or 10 or 100 cured. I couldn't be more excited to build toward that future @AnthropicAI. Finally, a heartfelt thank you to BioTwitter/X. The end of anonymity is bittersweet, but if anyone’s earned a proper introduction, you all have. It’s difficult to overstate how much this app has done for me: a decade of education, plenty of friends, many job opportunities, several mentors, a few investors, even a co-founder (fmr). It was the generosity of this community that inspired me to start posting 6 years ago, after just as many years lurking. I hope I’ve been able to pay it forward, in my own small way. But, to be clear, Prof Oak isn’t going anywhere. Same beat, same themes, and now, a front-row seat to drug development at the frontier. Stay tuned for dispatches from the trenches; and remember... Gotta Cure 'Em All

Big win for local LLM inference! This open-source engine generates tokens 2.7x faster than Ollama on a MacBook: I tested it on a base M5 MacBook Pro with Qwen3.5 4B at 4-bit and the same 9.2k-token prompt. Ollama ran its MTP build, so both had speculative decoding. - Prefill: Ollama 464 tok/s, Magnitude 755 tok/s (1.6x) - Decode: Ollama 22.6 tok/s, Magnitude 60.0 tok/s (2.7x) - End to end, Magnitude finished in half the time The video below shows both runs side by side. The Ollama numbers don’t mean it’s badly built. Its kernels were simply tuned in advance. A kernel is the small GPU program behind every matrix multiply and attention step. Its speed depends on choices like how work is split across GPU cores and how data moves through memory. The best choices change with every chip. Apple Silicon alone spans 8 to 80 GPU cores and under 70 to over 800 GB/s of bandwidth, and every model has its own layer sizes. A prebuilt engine has to pick one set of settings for all of them, so most local setups run on a compromise. Magnitude replaces that compromise with tuning on your machine: ↳ When you download a model, it compiles that model’s kernels locally. ↳ It tries different kernel configurations and keeps whichever runs fastest on your chip. ↳ It pairs each model with the fastest speculative decoding drafter it has found, so each pass of the model produces more than one token. GitHub repo: (don’t forget to star it 🌟) This matters most for agents. Every file and tool output has to be processed before the model writes anything, and that prefill step is where kernel efficiency shows up. Concurrent sessions also share prefix caches, so parallel agents don’t slow each other down. Magnitude is an open-source (Apache 2.0) inference engine written in Rust. It plugs into Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Pi and other agents with one click. I shared the GitHub repo above.

Experimental releases of GrapheneOS with our initial port to the Linux 6.18 branch are now available for testing on the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. We've done initial testing but there will likely be at least a dozen more crashes and other issues to find and fix. People should only help with testing this if they're able to tolerate regular kernel panics and various hardware functionality not working. We've done basic testing of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, GNSS, Vulkan and virtual machines via the Terminal app and microdroid API but there's far more to test. If you're interested in helping with testing, please join either our #testing: channel on Matrix or #testing on our Discord server. We've posted links to over-the-air updates for each of the 4 releases in both channels. These are production builds signed with the official signing keys. Users can update to these from our current releases and update from those to future experimental and regular releases. Hardware functionality should be the focus. Bluetooth / BLE, NFC, assorted Wi-Fi APs / standards, DisplayPort alt mode, USB peripherals, USB host modes, GNSS and NFC are examples. These experimental releases have all of the changes from our current development branch and are security preview releases with the security preview patches from our previous release. We have 4 official build machines so we can build for all 4 devices in parallel and make new releases as people test. Do not install the experimental releases unless you can tolerate regular freezes, kernel panics and broken hardware functionality. These are highly experimental and you should not expect the device to be very usable during the early testing. We'll make new releases with fixes for discovered issues.

The Sin: Parallel World Dream Ver 😮 “You're the most precious thing there is in my life, across every lifetime. After passing through that dreamworld and finally getting through to you, there's no one for me but you. It could take any form, we could be in any world, but it's fate—you're the only one for me and I for you. And nothing can ever tear us apart. In my dreams, I couldn’t find my way to you. There were limits holding us back. But not anymore. I may be plain and ordinary, but I want to love you as fully as I possibly can. We'll hold onto the fleeting moment when our love woke up the "sixth sense." It doesn't matter what world we're in—we'll always be connected”
