    I discovered today that the #PlanetaryComputer's data API has a "crop" endpoint: The data API is based on TiTiler ( which has a ton of features I need to dive into (more about that 3dep-lidar dataset in a future thread)

    This was such a great overview of these three powerful platforms. My takeaway: the open source tools from QGIS and Planetary Computer are powerful and flexible, but in terms of UX for the chosen workflow, GEE absolutely takes the 🍰.

    @rabernat
    @brunosan The harder part is once you need to scale out compute. IMO the UX of having to create and scale up a Dask cluster manually is where it gets really confusing for users. This is really hard to solve at the OSS level and requires a more deeply integrated architecture. 2/2

    Interesting thread 🧵by Jonathan Amos @BBCAmos accompanying his piece on the @Esri 2020 Land Cover map, made using a @ImpactObservatory deep learning model and @esa #Sentinel2 imagery and large scale compute provided by @Microsoft_Green #PlanetaryComputer
    Jonathan Amos @JCDAmos
    .@Esri, @ImpactObserv & @Microsoft_Green took the entire scene collection from the @defis_eu @ESA_EO #Sentinel2 #satellites in 2020 to make a land cover map of Earth at 10m resolution - in just under a week. The power of #MachineLearning.
