What should an effective #ProjectStrategy include? Here are the four most important points:
Communication: it is important to find a balance between having enough communication with your team, whilst not doing so many meetings that they become a time-consuming waste of effort.
Resource Identification: your strategic plan should identify what resources you will need for your project, and how you will get them. Most of your resources will either fall into the categories of money, people and assets.
Tracking Progress: this could be as simple as an excel sheet, or as complex as a fully featured work management platform. However, it is important to keep it as centralised as possible, so that problems can be dealt with quickly. Having different teams using different tools to collaborate can lead to important information being lost or misplaced.
Reporting: in order to report the progress and results, there must be an agreement as to what the KPIs are. These should reflect the client or sponsor’s expectations. In order to cross the finish line, you should know from the beginning what the finish line is and how you will cross it.
