#RemoteObject

#AMF #RemoteObject branch is merged in #FlexJS develop for you to test.Hope you could grab it from the nightly and give us some feedback :)

Users reported #AMF and #RemoteObject in #ApacheRoyale is working for #Java/#Blazeds, #.NET/#FluorineFX and #PHP/#AMFPHP backends! Thanks to all of you already migrating @apacheflex apps for letting us know! :) #html #javascript #js #as3 #mxml #apacheflex #flash2020

Ok, I'm going to star some tweets sharing what I can about the process of migration an @ApacheFlex app to @ApacheRoyale. The app is now in the process to go to production for real use. So still nothing to share that implies links or screenshots for now. So let’s start! :)

12-Our feeling was to be pioneers and try paths that no one else has yet traveled. So very exciting development! :) b) Maybe the main point of problems was some binding issues found, nothing blocking, but worth mentioning. This issues are the things we need to pursue now! :)

13-Team. To get success we hired two talented @ApacheRoyale contributors:One is @greg_dove, a very skilled professional that helped us with lots of things, mainly he solved many #AMF and #RemoteObject issues to make communications work flawlessly, just to mention some things :)

Sometimes, I honestly think Steve Jobs set the internet back 10 yrs when he released "thoughts on Flash". 9 yrs later, there are STILL things that were easily done in Flash, but today are overly difficult to do in JS. Not to mention JS is repeating the same issues (eg. SEO).

@bjunc @_tomrice Hi guys! Please check @ApacheRoyale the sucesor of @ApacheFlex. It brings the development ways you love and can output #html-#js-#css or #swf. We want to add other targets(#webasm?). We're close to 1.0. Many people already migrated from #Flex. Please, don't miss it and join us!

@ApacheRoyale @ApacheFlex @bjunc @_tomrice We already migrated to @ApacheRoyale from @ApacheFlex! We maintained #amf and #RemoteObject equal in #js! #royale is like #flex but much better since it brings the best of #flex and the best of #html, #javascript and #css together😊.

What's better than #RemoteObject/#AMF for communicate your client and your server? Right! a #CompressedRemoteObject! just available with examples in our repository for you to check it out! #json #REST #html #javascript #js

We get #AMF #RemoteObject in #FlexJS working with #Java! That’s so cool since you can port your #ApacheFlex app to #FlexJS more easy! :))

5-The interface was the main thing we changed, but following the same @ApacheFlex code. So we copied the code, and transformed small parts from #MX/#Spark to #Jewel. So If we have an s:HGroup we change to j:HGrop, and the same for Button, CheckBox, ComboBox, and more. So easy...

6-The App is data intensive, so lots of flex screens and complex forms to migrate. We used #RemoteObject #AMF to communicate with our #Java server through #Apache #BlazeDS. We pass complex data object with nested collections between #Royale and Java as we did in #Flex.

Just committed to #ApacheRoyale a new #RemoteObject/#AMF with zlib compression between client and server. So if #AMF was the most performant protocol to transfer, now is even better! :). Look at #CompressedRemoteObject in develop branch! :) #json #xml #rest #html #javascript #js

@jiangzhixiao Yes! We have support for #amf and #remoteobject in #ApacheRoyale ! :)

Almost a year ago @carlosrovira shared his experience in a twitter thread about migrating an @apacheflex / @java application to #ApacheRoyale. #javascript #js #html #html5 #css #as3 #mxml #flash2020 #ApacheFlex #developers

The app was a huge and involved #java @springframework, @hibernate and #blazeds with heavy use of #RemoteObject for #RPC with #AMF. If you plan to migrate to #ApacheRoyale, please check Carlos's twitter thread to get valuable info for your migration.

Heads up! #AMF and #RemoteObject is now working in #ApacheRoyale! The sample was entirely refactored to be easy to try it. You can now send and receive complex graph objects easily! Try this example yourself following this instructions:

So happy with @ApacheRoyale this days. We have almost 99% of the things we had in @ApacheFlex plus the new ones for modern #browsers #development. So best of both worlds! Take a look here #as3 #mxml #javascript #html #js #css #flash #flex #ux #ui :)

@carlosrovira @ApacheRoyale @ApacheFlex Thats awesome! Is states, mxml and flex 4 components supported fully supported?

@d0oo0p @ApacheRoyale @ApacheFlex States and MXML of course. I'm not using MX/Spark but #Jewel Components, but others are using it, so they could say more about it. We are using fully #AMF/#RemoteObject, #Crux (aka @SwizFramework in Flex), #Binding, #layouts..., and Royale things like #beads and #strands ;-)
