ANI @ANIDiscussion is underway to decide the right age for marriage of our daughters. From across the country, daughters write to me asking why hasn't the concerned committee given its decision yet. I assure all daughters that as soon as the report comes, govt will act on it: PM Modi
faceoftheworld @zeamlezzPUBLIC AWARENESS STATEMENT Illegal Alternative Highways: A Threat to Manipur’s Forests, Security, and Citizens’ Rights It has come to public notice that certain groups are demanding immediate approval and completion of so-called “alternative highways” in Manipur, particularly Lamka–Kangpokpi and Tengnoupal–Chandel–Lamka routes. We strongly urge the public and authorities to be aware of the following critical facts before supporting or legitimizing these demands: 1️⃣ Illegal Encroachment and Environmental Destruction These alternative roads have reportedly been constructed without any legal approval from the Government of India, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, or State Forest Department. Large areas of forest land have been cleared, burned, and destroyed in violation of the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980, and Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, severely impacting our ecology and wildlife. 2️⃣ Violation of Land and Revenue Laws No community or private entity has the right to construct public roads on forest, government, or village lands without legal acquisition, title, or permission under the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms Act, 1960. Unauthorized road building amounts to illegal encroachment and threatens the rights of legitimate landholders and indigenous forest communities. 3️⃣ Threat to Free Movement and Security While falsely accusing others of blocking their access, these groups have themselves blocked and threatened the free movement of other communities, violating Article 19(1)(d) of the Constitution (freedom of movement). Such unauthorized routes may be misused for illegal trade, arms and drug trafficking, and poppy cultivation, directly threatening national security and local law and order. 4️⃣ Who Authorized and Funded These Roads? Before legitimizing any route, the following questions must be answered: Who gave permission to build these roads? From where did the funding, machinery, and manpower come? Who supplied the materials for such long stretches? Why were no Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) or public hearings conducted as per law? 5️⃣ Upholding Constitutional Duties The State and Central Governments have a constitutional duty to: Protect forests and the environment (Article 48A, Article 51A(g)). Maintain public order and protect all citizens’ fundamental rights. Prevent and remove illegal encroachments and constructions that threaten harmony and national security. Our Call to Action ✅ We urge the Government of India and State of Manipur to immediately investigate and stop the legitimization of illegal roads that compromise the environment and security. ✅ We request concerned authorities to take legal action against those responsible for illegal constructions and threats to free movement. ✅ We appeal to the public and media to understand the hidden dangers behind such demands and stand for a lawful and peaceful Manipur that respects all communities and protects our forests. Legitimizing illegal routes is not about humanitarian aid — it is about forcing the State to accept encroachment, violence, and illegal activities as normal. We must resist such dangerous precedents for the safety and unity of all people in Manipur and India. Let us all stand together for the rule of law, environmental protection, and the constitutional rights of every citizen. @ashang_kasar @BenjaminMate1 @debanishachom @DynastyDoungel @manipur_police @meiteiheritage @ndtv @NENowNews @AmitShah @NBirenSingh @Paari_Athouba
