Just out in @CognitionJourn! Cross-modal #serialdependence in audio-visual temporal perception. We found that the effect of prior choices (which is attractive in unimodal conditions) can 'flip' - and become repulsive when switching between modalities.

This week during the annual meeting of European Conference on Visual Perception, I had the opportunity to share the results of our meta-analysis with @David__Pascucci and @ralfer and my, perhaps, uncommon view on serial dependence literature in visual perception. 1/6

This raises a critical question: If there’s a superiority effect when stimuli are similar, why does performance remain the same when they are sufficiently dissimilar, despite serial dependence expected to vanish? These results simply refute the underlying assumption. 5/6

Ever wondered whether #serialdependence of timing perception crosses modalities? In collab with Baolin Li and Biyao Wang (out today @BioMedCentral) we found that sensory and decisional carryover effects in duration perception are modality specific

    #Tweeprint w/@stevenjluck @jamesmgold et al.,we study #serialdependence using orientation & 0-8s memory delays,finding that current-trial WM drifts towards prior-trial orientation in HCS(healthy control subjects) but away from prior-trial orientation in ple w/ schizophrenia(PSZ)
