Dogs will never fully understand how much we need them on the hard days. But somehow, they always show up anyway. 💙🐾 #K9Life #ServiceDogs #EmotionalSupport #BehindTheBadge #OfficerWellness #FOPStrong #NationalFOP #FirstResponderLife #LawEnforcementFamily #CopCultureCheck

I had a busy day! #Alberta is one of the province's in Canada that sets training standards for #ServiceDogs, so annually I undergo a comprehensive assessment of behavior & skills. Today was my assessment day. I did awesome & maintain my status as a qualified service dog. 1/

Don't get me wrong, I love my job and I'm proud to wear my work gear, but there's something about coming home, taking it off and going for a big roll that just feels good. 🎥 My end of the work day ritual What's your end of the workday ritual look like? #ServiceDogs #WeekendVibes

We train & then donate Great Dane mobility #ServiceDogs. #NationalWalkingDay is pretty much our thing. This is Hunter & #ServiceDog Wendy. No matter where Hunter wants to go, SD Wendy will help him get there. #CerebralPalsy #DogsAreLove #Dogs #WednesdayMotivation @DoggoDating

Today I went to one of the most #Accessible places I've been too. The public library! We haven't been to one since we moved to the city! Did you know you can find dog books under 636.7 using the Dewey Decimal System? #DogsOfTwitter #ServiceDogs #yeg

It's been awhile since I visited the holistic veterinarian. I have a spot of arthritis in one shoulder so she helps make sure it's cared for. It's important #ServiceDogs are fit, healthy and at a good weight and never asked to do more than their body allows. #Rottweiler #dogs

Chesnyy is on package collecting duty today. Sometimes, these are impossible to grab from a wheelchair and often, they're left right in front of the door. This ends up being an important task. #ServiceDogs #XDogs Video description: a young rottweiler picks up an Amazon package for their disabled handler

When we train dogs with lots of positive reinforcement and make it fun, they love their jobs. Chesnyy is so happy to carry the mail home. #SpecialDelivery #ServiceDogs Video description for inclusivity: Chesnyy, a young rottweiler, sits outside of an elevator while holding 2 envelopes in her mouth. She follows her person onto the elevator and carries the envelopes to her apartment door

Today Chesnyy learned "going to the lab" didn't mean a playdate, but rather a trip to a place you lie very still while they poke needles in humans and take their blood. Like a vet clinic that doesn't give cuddles or cookies. #ServiceDogs

When you go shopping and unexpectedly run into one of your besties from school! #ServiceDogs

The #PresidentOfDogTwitter has asked that I do a daily woof about #ServiceDogs. Today's Service Dog Fact: While some breeds are more commonly seen as service dog, any dog that has the right temperament, is healthy and suitable for the type of work can be trained for the job.

From mailbox to door. Service with a wiggle. ♥️ Also... If you're not following this wiggle on X, you're missing out. #ServiceDogs #SpecialDelivery Video description for inclusivity: Chesnyy carries a package down the sidewalk, to her home and up the ramp

While I'm home gnawing on a delightful marrow bone, Chesnyy is out practicing being calm in holiday shopping crowds. It's a lot for a young dog so she gets lots of positive reinforcement so she knows she's doing well. #XDogs #ServiceDogs

It's been an absawoofly busy week but today we caught up on chores. Chesnyy and I took turns on laundry duty! #XDogs #ServiceDogs Video description: two Rottweilers taking laundry out of the dryer.

#ServiceDogs in #Science entering a laboratory would go thru special training for lab safety to wear #PPE boots, goggles & lab coat. Trained to enter safety showers, not auto-retrieve items on ground, wait patiently under benches & exposed to sirens & alarms. #SafetyFirst #dogs

LIVE ACTION NEWS!! THE AMAZON HUMAN CAME! I wonder if it's for me? #ServiceDogs Video description for inclusivity: a rottweiler in a blue bandana picks up Amazon envelopes and brings them to the camera operator. He then closes the door with his snoot power.

Did you know? At last count Mom says I understand 225 different verbal commands. A study by the American Psychology Association showed the average dog understands ~ 145 words. “Super dogs” can learn 250 words. Some doggos just have selective hearing tho 😉 #science #ServiceDogs

#ServiceDogs can get injured. If I can't work it impacts Moms #Independence. Working dogs like SDs & Law K9s get specialized Vet care like athletes. I pulled a muscle earlier last year. I had a lot of #physicaltherapy like water & land tread, laser & massages. #WellnessWednesday

Every now and again I get asked if #ServiceDogs have a good quality of life. We don't view work like humans do. Most of our tasks are like a game for us, we don't often sit home alone, we get lots of on the job naps and lots of time to do dogstuff. #WorkLifeBalance #dog

Funny how photos of humans with their colleagues aren't nearly as cute as dogs with their colleagues. #ServiceDogs
