Ein Kunde der Telekom hatte sich beschwert, weil er vom Kundenservice mit Gendersternchen (Ansprechpartner*in) angesprochen worden ist. Die Antwort der Kundenbetreuung ist bezeichnend: Man findet Gendern ebenfalls nicht gut, beugt sich aber einer Minderheit, die mit rechtlichen Schritten gedroht hat. Wohlgemerkt: rechtliche Schritte wegen einer sprachlich korrekten Ansprache! Soviel zum sozialen Zwang, der durch Gender-Befürworter ausgeübt wird (den sie aber natürlich nicht als solchen erkennen!). ELON WANTS 80,000 CELL TOWERS. AT&T WANTS YOU TO STAY ON HOLD. 📡 Dear AT&T, Remember two weeks ago when I wrote you a love letter from hold? I'm still on hold. And while I was waiting, Elon went shopping. Bloomberg says SpaceX is in talks to lease at least 80,000 US cell sites. That's about HALF of the 158,500 cell towers in the country. Crown Castle's CEO says they're talking to "all parties." That's tower company for "make us an offer." Here's what he already has: 🛰️ The FCC approved 15,000 next-gen direct-to-cell satellites on October 7. 📶 $17 billion of EchoStar spectrum. Approved in May. 📶 A low-band 800 MHz deal on October 8, so your signal works indoors. 🗼 And now towers on the ground to fill in the cities. Satellites up top. Towers down below. Spectrum in the middle. That's a phone company, babe. It just doesn't have a hold queue yet. Elon says he sees "a clear path to several hundred billion dollars a year in connectivity revenue." You know whose revenue that is now? Yours. And Wall Street noticed. AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile all dropped 4% to 5% after hours the second the story hit. Took about as long as it takes your app to log me out. And Verizon? Same boat, different deck chair. Both AT&T and Verizon bet on AST SpaceMobile, Elon's satellite rival. So their plan to beat Elon is to hire the other guy. Bold. And it's not just America. Look at the rest of the planet: 🇯🇵 NTT Docomo, KDDI and SoftBank all rent Elon's satellites now. Docomo signed up 5 million people in two months. He's not their competitor yet. He's their landlord. 🇨🇦 Canada's Moostel (Rogers, Bell and Telus, eh) is split: Rogers rents from Elon, Bell went with AST. 🇦🇺 Telstra and Optus, 🇳🇿 One NZ, 🇺🇦 Kyivstar, 🇬🇧 O2 and 🇩🇪 Deutsche Telekom are all Starlink partners too. Ask T-Mobile how it feels when your landlord builds his own house next door. 🇪🇺 Vodafone, Orange, Telefónica and Hutchison went with AST. Team "anybody but Elon." Good luck with that. The only big market that's safe? India. Not because Jio and Airtel are better. Because Elon's been waiting FIVE YEARS for a license, and he's publicly pointed a finger at Mukesh Ambani. (Reliance says it isn't blocking anybody.) India's red tape is the strongest moat money can buy. "But Selene, AT&T has FIBER." Oh honey. I know. They bought Lumen's home fiber business for $5.75 billion. They're ripping out copper. They paid $23 billion for their own slice of EchoStar spectrum. Very impressive. You know what else had a great wired network? Western Union. Kodak had a lovely film business, too. Wired networks and legacy telcos just died this week, and nobody told them. They're still out there selling landlines to the six people who need a fax line to talk to the DMV. I spent 20 years in IT and telecom. I've watched carriers spend a decade "planning" what Elon launches on a Tuesday. And let's be honest about AT&T's track record on big moves. It bought DirecTV for $49 billion and sold it off in pieces. It bought Time Warner for $85 billion and spun it out four years later. They don't need someone else to break them up. They've been practicing for years. So here's my unsolicited advice, which is not financial advice: AT&T, break yourself up before Elon does it for you. Keep the fiber. Sell the towers to the guy who wants them. Spin off the customer service department into a museum exhibit. Shareholders? Ask yourself if you want to own the horse and buggy company the week Ford opened the factory. And to my fellow AT&T customers: your next carrier might come from the same company that lands rockets on a barge. Just think what customer service will be like when it's run by people who can catch a skyscraper with chopsticks. Still on hold. Still waiting. Not for long. 🦋

T-Mobile just took AI-RAN out of the lab and onto a live commercial network. Together with Nokia and NVIDIA, it completed what the companies call the world’s first AI-RAN call on a commercial network, at a real cell site in Bellevue, Washington. And it worked with a regular smartphone connected to T-Mobile’s existing 5G Standalone core. Behind it: Nokia’s CUDA-accelerated anyRAN software running on NVIDIA’s Aerial RAN Computer. The interesting part is where this goes. The same computing platform can run the mobile network and AI workloads, bringing that compute closer to the people and devices using it. BT is planning live trials in Birmingham in 2027. Deutsche Telekom is targeting field trials in 2027 too. Elisa has already run voice, mobile data and video analytics together in a 5G field trial, with commercial AI-RAN services targeted for 2027. The cell site isn’t just carrying your data. It’s starting to become a place where AI runs. (

Wer sagt diesen Vertretern des deutschen Größenwahns, dass sie peinliche Witzfiguren sind, die nichts aufbauen werden, das Starlink auch nur nahe kommt? Ich bin sofort dabei, wenn es darum geht, die deutsche Wirtschaft mit Ideenreichtum zu stärken, aber diese absurden Luftschlösser, die von alten CEOs in die Welt gesetzt werden, schaden uns als Land enorm.

Millionen Menschen in über 160 Ländern nutzen es bereits. Rund 11.100 dieser Satelliten kreisen gerade über uns. Es ist das mit Abstand größte und aktivste Netzwerk der Erde dieser Art. Während Menschen, deren höchste Lebensleistung darin besteht, auf 𝕏 gegen Musk zu schimpfen und es abwerten, rettet es jeden Tag Leben. Nach einem Erdbeben in Vanuatu wurde ein Seekabel zerstört. Starlink hat die Internetversorgung sichergestellt. Der Notfall-Arzt in einem Dorf in Papua-Neuguinea, der früher nur schwer erreichbar war, kann nun dank Starlink viel schneller Leben retten. Die ukrainische Nation wäre wahrscheinlich ohne diese Technologie nicht mehr existent, denn sie gewährleistet die technologische Wehrfähigkeit. Starlink ist nur eines der vielen Projekte eines Universalgenies, das jeden Tag die Menschheit voranbringt.
