“In 2018, I realized that the @csteachersorg standards had only two sentences about AI. I went to my dept chair and said, this is a problem, we should do something about it. And he said, you’re right. YOU should do something about it.” @DaveTouretzky #ToCodeandBeyond

The #ToCodeAndBeyond panel discussed integration of CT into other subject areas. @_AllenMC_ great points: “those (STEM) pathways are there, but they’re not always recognized.” “we can tap into what we already recognize and value it within our CS spaces” #csforall

Thanks to @diane_levitt for inviting me to #ToCodeandBeyond it was a really fun day. Meeting a bunch of people who are in the same realm as me was very motivational and helped me have a better view of how we need to push this work.

I think about CS teacher PD less as about cramming content into their heads than about making them become expert CS learners. We can't cover ALL the content- it keeps changing - but we can make Ts comfortable learning what they need to teach @teach_python #ToCodeandBeyond

When we talk about marginalization, we talk passively. Who is marginalizing those people? People don't choose to sit in the margins. The system, advisors, counselors and neighbors are doing the marginalization. It's a process actively taking place. @kamaubobb #ToCodeandBeyond
