The Nasdaq rebounded yesterday, while the Dow Jones still closed lower. Pre-market trading today is also showing divergence among AI data center stocks amid reactions to the U.S. midterm election results. My view: The AI infrastructure opportunity is still there, but investors are becoming much more selective about where they put their money. Here are the key stocks I'm watching: 1️⃣ AI Chips & Computing Power $AMD: Strong data center business growth. Its 2027 growth outlook is worth watching closely. $NVDA: Watching whether the rebound can continue and whether capital starts flowing back into core AI computing. $AVGO: Focus on demand for custom AI chips and networking infrastructure. $MU: The memory demand thesis remains intact, but the key is whether the sector can sustain its momentum. 2️⃣ AI Networking & Data Centers $ANET: AI networking demand remains a key driver. Watching how the stock trades following earnings-related catalysts. $VRT: A key player in data center power and cooling infrastructure. Watching for buying support after the recent pullback. 3️⃣ Energy & High-Volatility Opportunities $FSLR: Solar stocks are showing pre-market strength. The question is whether this sector rotation can continue. $IREN: Its exposure to AI computing and data center infrastructure keeps it on the radar, but policy and financing risks should not be overlooked. $CRWV: The focus should be on financing costs, capital expenditures, and cash flow — not just a rebound in the share price. My Trading Approach This is not the time to chase stocks simply because they're moving higher. AMD deserves close attention given its earnings performance and growth expectations. For ANET, NVDA, and AVGO, I want to see whether capital flows into AI infrastructure become more synchronized. For high-volatility names like IREN and CRWV, position sizing and predefined exit rules must come first. There are three signals I'll be watching: Whether the rebound is supported by stronger trading volume. Whether AI chipmakers and data center stocks can move higher together. Whether stocks showing pre-market gains can hold their key levels after the opening bell. Opportunities don't show up every day, but a watchlist should always be ready.
