A powerful tool for derived state introduced in
#Angular19 👉 inkedSignal!
It’s a function, similar to computed, but with one major difference:
💡 linkedSignal is writable, meaning it can hold and update state that depends on other signals.
This makes it ideal for scenarios where you want a default derived state that can also be manually overridden.
An example use case? A dropdown where the options list may change over time:
👉 linkedSignal links to the options list,
👉 automatically selects the first available option,
👉 lets the user change the selection,
👉 reacts if the options list updates (e.g. filtering, async data).
This gives you the best of both worlds:
✅ reactive defaults,
✅ adaptability to dynamic sources,
✅ manual overrides.
