This is my adaptation of an animation I found on Twitter (re-tweeted by @jimalkhalili). The original (since deleted) claimed that the dots were all moving at the same linear speed, but it was clearly not true. In my version, coded in BBC BASIC, they really are! #bbcbasic

I managed finally to convert an earlier version of our art program in BBC basic for windows to BBC basic for sdl. This means I can now paint on my ipad. Took a few days and used a.i for button help. This was painted very naturally with my finger just now on the iPad. #bbcbasic

This pinball program is fewer than 300 lines of BBC BASIC and runs in Windows, MacOS, Linux, Raspbian, Android, iOS and in-browser. It uses Box2D for the dynamics and OpenGL for the 3D graphics. Can your favourite programming language do that? #bbcbasic

In 1981 @McgoughRoger co-authored the program POEM supplied on the BBC Micro Welcome Tape. In a nice twist, this image was Colour Recovered (using a BBC BASIC program) from a recently discovered black-and-white film recording of The Scaffold performing in December 1968. #bbcbasic

Version 1.22a of 'BBC BASIC for SDL 2.0' comes with a set of Box2D demo programs, each of which uses Debug Draw graphics to illustrate a different feature of the physics engine. If you have a compatible browser you can run them at this link: #bbcbasic

If you've noticed some Ceefax pages not displaying correctly, you're not alone. The BBC has changed the format of its pages and this has broken I've now fixed this in BBC BASIC for SDL 2.0 and the standalone Android app. #bbcbasic

I've released v1.20a of 'BBC BASIC for SDL 2.0'. It comes with an updated webgllib library, compatible with all the supported platforms, that performs per-pixel lighting calculations (compared with per-vertex calculations of the older libraries). #bbcbasic
