Clayface had a bigger dad story. Aaron Paul shot flashbacks as Matt's abusive father, Jimmy "One Nut" Hagen, and most of them got cut. Director James Watkins says the film moved away from a "sins of the father" story and toward revenge. His mother’s role (Ishtar Wilson) also got cut with her having a few flashbacks with a younger Matt played by Seth Thomas.31430720.6K

Call Me G 🌙🌸@viewsbygThoughts on Backlight 💭 ‼️Contains Spoiler of Ch.58/59‼️ Of all the intimate scenes Seo-In and Yeongwoon have shared, the one in ch. 58/59 has been my absolute favorite so far. It brought together everything I had been hoping to see between them since S1: mutual feelings, tenderness in their gazes and touches, passion and above all, the certainty that both of them wanted this closeness of their own free will without coercion or force. The only thing that slightly dampened the moment for me was Seo-In’s initial urgency and impatience, which nearly resulted in him accidentally choking Yeongwoon, even though that was never his intention. Still the way Seo-In clung to Yeongwoon made it clear that his deep-rooted insecurity and fear of being abandoned are still very much present. I suspect that his need to claim Yeongwoon as his own in a sense to “mark” him also stems (at least partly) from the fear of loss. It feels as he wants to reassure himself of the closeness they share and hold on to something he secretly still fears he might lose again. What I found especially touching was the way Yeongwoon’s thoughts and feelings were portrayed during their intimacy. It felt like they had truly become one for the first time, not just physically but also emotionally. Yeongwoon was able to enjoy being close to Seo-In without feeling hesitant about touching him or looking into his eyes. In doing so, he rediscovered familiar sides of Seo-In while also getting to know new facets of him. At the same time, it was clearly noticeable how much both of them were trying to be attentive to each other and make the other feel good. One of the highlights of these chapters for me were the parallels with the flashbacks and their previous intimate moments. The shoes lying messily on the floor and the way their feet touched each other were one of these small but meaningful details. These recurring elements beautifully show that deep down, they’re still the same they were back then. At the same time, these familiar gestures take on an entirely new meaning as their relationship develops. What may have previously remained unspoken or been overshadowed by uncertainty can be now experienced with more trust and mutual affection. What that left me touched the most were the small, almost casual gestures like the way Yeongwoon plays with Seo-In’s hair, the gentle way Seo-In holds Yeongwoon’s head, the way he buries his face against Yeongwoon’s body, placing Yeongwoon’s hands upon his back to hold him close in an embrace. For me, these moments hold an incredible amount of emotional depth. Seo-In, who was emotionally distant and suppressed his feelings for almost the entire S1, finally allows his vulnerability and emotions to surface. He seeks out Yeongwoon’s presence not merely in a physical sense, but by leaning on him emotionally to find a sense of comfort and security. All these gestures speak of a tenderness and a profound affection that both have suppressed, denied or failed to fully express for so many years. This makes it all more moving and poignant to witness them in an intimate moment…a moment where they’re not only physically close but also allow themselves to feel the emotions they have carried within them for so long. And that is to me where the true depth and the unique essence of their relationship lie. #reviewsbyg #backlightreviewsbyg [Panel Credit: Gangddo’s post]06407.1K- Show more posts
