An older man gets refused service at a UPS store after a cursing match in line. "I'm old. And I've done more for this country than you do." Staff: "We don't tolerate that kind of language." Him: "Can I apologize?" Staff: "No, I'm sorry. There's other UPS stores down the street." Then: "So, we're for aliens, huh? Okay, maybe I should call ICE." Was the store right to throw him out?

This reminds of a joke: A young priest asks a wise older priest, "What's the difference between the Jesuit and Dominican Orders?" The older priest says wearily, "Well, actually they have a lot in common. They were both founded by Spaniards, St. Dominic for the Dominicans, and St. Ignatius of Loyola for the Jesuits. They were also both founded to combat heresy: the Dominicans to fight the Albigensians, and the Jesuits to fight the Lutherans." The younger priest says, "I see. But where do the Jesuit and Dominican Orders really differ?" The older priest looks at him and says, "Well, have you met any Albigensians lately?"

In 1972, a 7-year-old boy was taken on his way home from school. The man told him his parents couldn't afford him anymore and had given him away. For 7 years, Steven called his kidnapper "dad". Then the man brought home another little boy. Steven Stayner was taken in Merced, California, by a man named Kenneth Parnell. He was given a new name, moved from town to town, and abused for years. He was enrolled in schools under that name. Nobody noticed. In February 1980, Parnell kidnapped a 5-year-old named Timmy White. Steven was 14. He had spent half his life believing nobody was looking for him. But he decided Timmy would not grow up the way he did. Two weeks later, while Parnell was at work, Steven took Timmy by the hand and walked out. They hitchhiked through the night to the town Timmy had been taken from. Steven planned to leave him near the police station and disappear. Timmy got scared and wouldn't let go. So they walked in together. Steven's first words to the officers: "I know my name is Steven." In the video below, filmed days after he came home, Steven sits next to the parents he hadn't seen in 7 years and calmly describes the afternoon a stranger offered him a ride. Parnell got 7 years for the kidnapping. He was out in 5. Steven died in a motorcycle crash in 1989. He was 24. 10 years later, the FBI arrested his older brother Cary for the murders of four women near Yosemite. Today there is a statue in Merced of a teenage boy holding a little boy's hand. How does a 14-year-old who lost everything still find the courage to save someone else?

"Sorry I yelled at you"!! An older woman pulls out and hits a man's truck. He films from his own point of view. Right away he says "sorry I yelled at you when I got out, I was a little angry," tells her it's just her bumper, gives her a hug and keeps telling her it's okay while she's shaken up. He says he's not worried about his truck at all. Plenty of people would have kept yelling. He was the one who got hit, and he's the one apologizing for losing his temper for a few seconds. That's the part I want to point out. Getting angry isn't the failure. Everybody gets angry. The question is what you do 10 seconds later. I'm raising two boys and I tell them this all the time. You're going to lose your cool sometimes. A real man comes back and owns it. Would I have yelled at first? Honestly, probably. Would I have walked back over, apologized and hugged her? I'd like to think every single time. Is grace like this rare now, or do we just not see it on camera?

Every time I see one of these posts I am reminded of my favorite joke that always goes over with the bros, something like two men are sitting in a diner, one in his 20s and the other in his 70s. The older man can tell the younger man is really upset and asks "are you ok son? You seem to be having a real tough time" and the younger man says "well, I just got off the phone with my girlfriend. We've been together for a few years now and she's really putting the pressure on about wanting to get married and start a family, but my folks got divorced when I was a kid and marriage just seems so scary to me. But I love her so much and I don't want to lose her. Are you married sir?" and the older man says "I am, in fact my wife and I recently celebrated our 50th anniversary." So the younger man says "that's amazing, I'd love that to be us. Do you mind me asking how did you know she was THE ONE?" The older man tells him "its actually a funny story, when I was your age I was a bit of a playboy, always going out with different women every night and it was pretty routine for me to have 2 or 3 steady girlfriends at a time. But a lot of my friends were settling down and starting families and I started thinking about how I wanted that for myself. The problem was I was seeing 3 different women at the time, and every one of them was someone I could really see building a life and a future with. All 3 were smart and funny and beautiful and I always had a great time with each of them. So I decided I'd give each one $100, that was a lot of money back then!, and tell them to do whatever they wanted with it and I figured I'd get a good idea of what kind of wife and mother they would be by how they spent it. So I gave the first girl I had been seeing the money and told her to do whatever she wanted and she said "well I tell you what I'm going to do with it, I'm going to go to the beauty parlor and get all done up, buy a new dress, and take you out on the town tonight. We'll go to your favorite restaurant and then out to a nightclub and you can make all the other fellas jealous!" And she really did look like a movie star, I was so proud to be seen with her on my arm and I thought what a fun time we would have as a couple. Well then the next day I see the second woman I'd been seeing and tell her the same thing, and she thinks for a minute and says "well, I'd hate to spend all that money on myself. If its ok I'd like to give it to my brother, you know he and his family have really been going through some hard times. He was in that awful car wreck and had to be in the hospital for weeks. They've got a lot of bills piled up from that and this would really help him and his wife out so much, is it ok if I give to them?" and I thought what a kind and generous person she was, if she was that thoughtful to her brother and his family how much more would she be with ours. Well then I see the third woman, and I give her the money and tell her the same thing. She thinks for a bit and says "I'm going to take this down to the bank and buy a savings bond with it. I don't really need anything right now but you never know what the future holds and it would be a good idea for us to start thinking about the future, this would be a good way to start." And I thought what a smart and practical woman, she'd make such a fantastic wife and mother, someone I know I could trust to make good decisions for our family." The young man looks at him and says "wow, all that must have made it an even tougher decision. How did you decide?" And the older man says "I picked the one with the biggest boobs."

He is 33 years old 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 As a 5 year old, he wrote a simple note "I want to play football" Met his wife Katie at age 4 as classmates at Larkswood Primary School in Chingford. Shared his first kiss with Katie when he was about 14 Released by Arsenal's youth team at age 8. His dad put an arm around him and calmly said they'd work harder and find another club, with zero pressure or blame Spent countless hours as a kid playing 1-v-1 with older brother Charlie in the park behind their house, using trees as goals. Was reduced to tears by a surprise message from a former schoolteacher before a big Champions League match. Called becoming a young dad the bravest thing he’d ever done Said being a dad and husband is the most important part of his life. In his emotional Ballon d'Or speech he told wife Kate she was his "best friend" and "biggest supporter" and that she'd wanted the award more than he did. Told his four kids (watching past bedtime) they are "the reason I do this" and that he wants to set an example of hard work and belief. After scoring a hat-trick, Katie has been known to ground him with "Well done, you can make me a cup of tea when you get home" His parents never put pressure on him to become a footballer. His dad's classic line was always "Well, let's get on with it then" Harry Kane launched a mental health foundation on World Mental Health Day to reduce stigma and support positive conversations. . . . Look at Harry Kane's life. He has put in sooo much work over the years, that this award win is highly supported by majority of people At 5 years old, he said he wanted to play ball. At 8, he had to leave the Arsenal academy. . . . . You see, it's totally alright to start again, quietly, without anyone noticing. You can stay loyal to the people who believed in you when it was only the two of you and a ball in the park. And you can still arrive. Progress doesn't always roar and make noise. In Harry Kane's case, his progress looked like a father who didn't panic, who just puts an arm around you and says we'll keep going. Sometimes, your progress looks like someone who loves you enough to bring you back to earth with something as small as a cup of tea. Sometimes it is simply the soft, patient belief that the next chance will come if you keep showing up with the same heart you started with. . . . Today Harry has won the Ballon d'Or And he won it at 33 years old. That is 28 years after he said he wanted to be a footballer. . . Your own award is still coming. You just need to keep working and increase your chances that it comes. That's all. Keep the motion going. If Harry had given up on football or stopped playing, then he wouldn't have won the Ballon d'Or. If you give up on yours and stop your motion, you won't win. So don't stop today. Keep pushing and let's win together 🫂💪🏾 . . Thank you very much for reading . . ✍️ Vincent the Therapist

On the night of April 8, 1994, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Keely Shaye Smith stepped around a corner at a party and into a life she had not expected. She was a 30-year-old television correspondent there to interview actor Ted Danson. Pierce Brosnan was among the guests. She later said he was captivating—tall, dark, and handsome—with a mischievous sparkle in his eyes that made her think, simply, “Wow.” Summoning her courage, she introduced herself. He has said he knew almost at once that he would never find another woman as good. Days later they had their first date. They sat under the stars while fireworks burst overhead and Kenny Loggins sang. Pierce held her hand. They talked until three in the morning. Whatever the words, the evening never really ended; they were together from that point forward. By 1997 the pair were parents. Their first son, Dylan Thomas Brosnan, arrived on January 13. Four years later, on February 27, 2001, their second son, Paris Beckett, was born. The children came before the wedding; the couple had already built a family while the formal ceremony waited. The wedding itself was postponed three times. Floods once trapped Keely and young Dylan in California. Then Pierce’s older son Sean was badly hurt in a car accident. Finally Keely discovered she was pregnant with Paris. When the day finally arrived, on August 4, 2001, they married at the 800-year-old Ballintubber Abbey in County Mayo, Ireland. The night before, they had christened baby Paris in the same abbey. Roughly a hundred guests gathered for a traditional Catholic ceremony. Keely wore a lace gown with a high neck and sheer sleeves (later slipping into a strapless satin dress), while Pierce looked every bit the Bond star in a dark suit. The reception followed at nearby Ashford Castle, with The Chieftains playing, a midnight fireworks display over the lake, and a six-tier cake. Pierce even placed a Child of Prague statue in the garden the night before to keep the Irish weather kind—and it worked. They have remained together ever since. As of August 2026 they had been married 25 years and a couple for more than three decades. Pierce still calls Keely his North Star and his beautiful brown-eyed girl. She has said the adventure continues and that she looks forward to the next 25 years beside him. Their sons Dylan and Paris are grown; the marriage that began under Mexican stars and was sealed in an Irish abbey has simply kept going, built on friendship, ordinary days, and the steady decision to stay♥️♥️

Some have criticized my support for Brazil, my efforts to amplify Flávio Bolsonaro’s platform, and my outspoken opposition to communism, especially with America’s midterms approaching. Let me explain. I’ve spent 10 years in American politics defending the freedoms I believe in, sacrificing sleep, family time, and personal stability. My commitment to America has never wavered. But my love for Brazil began long before my political career in America. At six years old, I first experienced Brazil as the child of missionaries. What began as a childhood experience became a lifelong connection. As I grew older, that connection never faded. Through adolescence, college, and adulthood, Brazilian people, friendships, and personal relationships remained part of my life. I even nearly married a Brazilian in college, but that’s a story for another day. 😉 I’ve carried that love into adulthood, along with a deep appreciation for the warmth, generosity, and extraordinary hospitality of the Brazilian people. Brazil isn’t simply a country I visited as a child. It’s a country and a people I’ve loved throughout my life. Brazil helped shape my heart. America gave me a mission. Both countries have shaped who I am and what I stand for. My connection to Brazil isn’t political convenience. It’s personal, deeply rooted, and lifelong. I believe communism must never be allowed to take hold in either nation. I will fight every day to defend the freedoms I believe both countries deserve. I don’t have to choose between loving Brazil and serving America. My commitment to one strengthens my conviction to stand for the other. My mission in America has not changed, and my voice for Brazil will never be silenced. Because freedom and the fight against communism does not end at our borders, and neither does my conviction to defend both. Much love. 🇺🇸❤️🇧🇷

🇷🇺🇺🇸 PUTIN’S OIL SUPERPOWER IS RUNNING SHORT OF DIESEL WHILE TANKERS HEAD FOR AMERICA Russia is facing an increasingly embarrassing contradiction: diesel shortages are spreading around St. Petersburg while Russian fuel tankers are heading toward the United States. According to Rosbalt, diesel is available at just 62% of filling stations across St. Petersburg and the surrounding Leningrad region. Drivers are encountering shortages, queues and fuel restrictions. Meanwhile, three tankers carrying Russian diesel are heading toward America, including one vessel under sanctions. Russian propaganda attempted to celebrate the shipments with an image of a tanker supposedly sailing toward the US. But Russian investigative outlet Agenstvo exposed the photograph as manipulated, with a banner digitally added to an older image. The problems extend well beyond petrol stations. Ukrainian strikes have disrupted Russian refining operations, with diesel production estimated to have fallen by 30%. At the Novoshakhtinsk oil terminal in Rostov, satellite imagery shows damage to eight of twelve storage tanks. The facility previously handled up to 3.5 million tonnes of fuel annually, supporting exports and fuel distribution. Russia’s Black Sea trade is also under pressure. Ukrainian drone threats have driven container carriers away from Novorossiysk, a port that handled approximately 1.11 million TEU in 2025, representing more than a fifth of Russia’s container traffic. And despite elevated global oil prices, Russia’s oil and gas revenues are under growing pressure from infrastructure damage, transport costs and discounted exports. The consequences are becoming visible in places far removed from the Ukrainian front line. Russia can continue exporting fuel while experiencing domestic shortages, but that exposes an uncomfortable economic reality: foreign sales, military requirements and civilian demand are competing for increasingly strained infrastructure. Putin launched a war expecting Ukraine to bear the destruction. Now even the region surrounding his hometown is feeling its economic consequences.

A Tribute to Patrick Stewart 1940 - 2026 Sir Patrick Stewart died on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the age of 86, at his home in Los Angeles. Multiple independent outlets including The Hollywood Reporter, Associated Press, Deadline, People, Rolling Stone, and NBC News reported the news on October 29 based on an official announcement. His longtime spokesperson, Kelly Bush Novak, stated that he passed following a brief and poignant journey with Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy body dementia. The statement continued: He has been held in the warm embrace of family and friends, surrounded by live music, prayer, tears, laughter and the kind of profound emotion that only he could inspire after a lifetime of devotion to us all. We will forever cherish the peaceful ease and reflection on his face, an enduring reminder of his invincible grace. Memorial contributions were suggested to the Johns Hopkins Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center Fund and related caregiver resources. Patrick Stewart was born on 13 July 1940 in Mirfield, in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England, to Gladys (née Barrowclough), a weaver and textile worker, and Alfred Stewart, a regimental sergeant major in the British Army’s Parachute Regiment who later worked as a general labourer and postman. Alfred’s wartime service, including the Dunkirk evacuation, left him with what is now understood as PTSD; he struggled with heavy drinking and was physically abusive toward Gladys. As the youngest of three sons (with older brothers Geoffrey and Trevor), young Patrick often intervened to protect his mother. The family lived in modest, difficult circumstances. Acting became an escape and a vocation. An English teacher, Cecil Dormand, placed a volume of Shakespeare in his hands and told him to stand up and perform. Stewart left school at 15, worked briefly as a junior reporter and obituary writer for the local Mirfield and District Reporter, and quit when forced to choose between journalism and the stage. After a year selling furniture to save money, he received a scholarship or grant to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School (alongside future friend Brian Blessed). He made his professional debut in 1959. Stewart spent the core of his early career on the classical stage. He joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1966 and remained closely associated with it for many years (through roughly 1982 as a company member and associate artist), appearing in more than 60 productions. He played a wide Shakespearean range including roles in Antony and Cleopatra (for which he won a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1979), Macbeth, The Tempest, Hamlet (later as Claudius, earning another Olivier and a Tony nomination), and others, alongside actors such as Ian McKellen, Ben Kingsley, and Ian Richardson. He also performed modern works and developed a celebrated one-man A Christmas Carol. His Broadway debut came in the early 1970s. This rigorous theatrical training gave him the authority, vocal command, and emotional depth that later defined his screen work. In the late 1980s, the classically trained English stage actor was cast as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987–1994). The role made him an international star. He brought Shakespearean gravitas, moral clarity, and quiet authority to the captain’s chair, helping elevate the series and the franchise. He later reprised the character in feature films including Generations, First Contact, Insurrection, and Nemesis, and the series Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023). He often spoke of the part as a highlight because of its themes of exploration, ethics, and the human condition. Parallel to this, Stewart embodied Professor Charles Xavier / Professor X in the X-Men films beginning with the 2000 original, continuing through X2, The Last Stand, Days of Future Past, Logan, and related entries. He portrayed the character with dignity, compassion, and intellectual force—the same qualities he said he admired in both Picard and Xavier. Later appearances included a multiverse cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and a planned return in Avengers: Doomsday. Other notable screen credits include Gurney Halleck in Dune (1984), roles in Excalibur, I Claudius, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, a television Moby Dick (as Ahab), and extensive voice work (including long-running turns on American Dad!). Stewart’s stage and screen achievements brought formal recognition: two Olivier Awards, a Grammy Award (for narrating Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf), and nominations for a Tony, multiple Emmys, Golden Globes, and Screen Actors Guild Awards. He was appointed OBE in 2001 and knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2010 for services to drama (investiture at Buckingham Palace on 2 June 2010). He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1996. He was married three times: to Sheila Falconer (1966–1990; children Daniel, an actor, and Sophia); to Wendy Neuss (2000–2003); and to singer-songwriter Sunny Ozell from 2013 until his death. He remained close to longtime friends and collaborators, notably Ian McKellen, with whom he shared celebrated stage runs of Waiting for Godot and No Man’s Land. Sir Patrick Stewart bridged the classical stage and global popular culture with unusual integrity. The sonorous voice, the measured delivery, the moral seriousness tempered by dry humor and warmth—these qualities made Picard and Professor X enduring figures and made Stewart himself a beloved presence across generations. He turned a difficult Yorkshire childhood into a life of artistic discipline and public grace. The official statement’s description of his final days, surrounded by family, music, and love, is a fitting close to a career spent illuminating the better possibilities of human character. He is survived by his wife Sunny Ozell and his children. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations supporting Alzheimer’s research and caregivers.
