Java 27 API documentation is now available! As usual, we present it in classical style with frame-like navigation. Another advantage: On APIdia you can also browse internals if you need to. Link in the comments. #java #javadoc #java27 #openjdk #jvm #APIdia

Running two service calls in parallel is easy. Handling the case where one fails without leaving the other doing useless work is less so. JEP 533 in #Java27 re-previews Structured Concurrency with updated exception handling. With the default StructuredTaskScope, a failed subtask cancels the scope and interrupts unfinished work, while join() reports the failure as an ExecutionException. Seventh preview.

Java 27 makes object headers smaller by default. My first thought: what if existing code needs those missing bits? I explain what changes, why ordinary Java code still works, and how to measure the savings. Diagrams + code examples. #Java27 #Java #JVM

JEP 531 in #Java27 adds Set.ofLazy(...): define every candidate up front, then resolve membership only when contains(...) first asks for it. Each candidate is evaluated at most once and the result is reused, even with concurrent access. Preview API, run with --enable-preview.
