A group of P2 boys treated us to a wonderful puppet show this afternoon, retelling the story “The Perfect Fit” by Naomi and James Jones. We will all take home a copy of the story tomorrow in our #ReadWriteCount bags.

Lots of fantastic shape work happening in P2 after reading the amazing book The Perfect Fit by Naomi Jones!#BookWeekScotland #oakgrovelovesreading #readwritecount

P2/3 absolutely loved exploring their ‘Read Write Count’ Bookbug bags. We read ‘the perfect fit’ then drew some pictures with a variety of shapes. We loved using the book to help us and explore all things shape! #BookWeekScotland #ReadWriteCount 📖 📚

Thank you to our Primary 7s who delivered our 2s and 3s with some exciting goodie bags this morning! They took time to go through them with and read stories! #readwritecount #worldbookweek #responsiblecitizens

This week is #bookweekscot and P3b were SO excited to get their #readwritecount bags today! A love for reading is one of the most important skills we can teach a child and I have never come across a class that love to read as much as this lot do @NiddrieMillPS 📚 ❤️

Yet more brilliant news this #BookWeekScotland - did you know that #ReadWriteCount book bags are now available in accessible formats, including books in braille and/or large print? Great work @scottishbktrust and thank you for sharing @guidedogsscot!

Excited children in P2 taking their #ReadWriteCount bags home today. Why not tweet us some photographs as you enjoy your bags together.

It’s #BookWeekScot 2017! #ReadWriteCount bags are due to be gifted to P2 and P3 students this week. I’ll be tweeting ideas on how you and your child can use what’s in the bag, and you can also find more ideas at

Primary 3 @hazleheadschool read the story 'Octopus Shocktopus' and spoke about the importance of inclusion. As teams, we worked together to create our own colourful octopuses and focussed on including everyone. @StevenLenton @ReadWriteCount #readwritecount 🐙🐙🐙🐙

We didn’t let the rain spoil our #bookbug #readwritecount gifting @DrakiesPS today! A little last minute change of plan, but it was wonderful to welcome families in to share the love of reading with us all 💛📚 Thank you for joining us 😊 #booksforeveryone

Above and Below is included in this year’s #ReadWriteCount activity bag, and it has lots of interesting facts about animals. Keep your child entertained by helping them ask family and friends which are their favourite animals and make a tally chart.

Our primary twos completed lots of literacy tasks with our parents this afternoon to explore and enjoy our books #ReadWriteCount #Scottishbookweek #weachievetogether @Stoneywood_1
