Using a #GravityEquation & allowing for #SpatialCorrelation, we found that a rise in #temperature and a drop in #precipitation act as significant push factors in #migration. #ClimateChange ;see:

Our #PharmaServices team can help you understand the #Heterogeneity & #SpatialCorrelation of multiple biomarkers. Here are two examples of how our approach can support biomarker research & give your team clear interpretable results to define a way forward.

Very happy to share our new WP on the impact of the #Sargassum seaweed on the #economy of Mexican tourist-heavy coastal zones (Quintana Roo). We use a #GIS dataset of monthly information on light intensity and sargassum presence (#SateliteImagery). 🧵1/5

Applying a fixed-effects regression model, we found that the presence of Sargassum on a beach segment (observable from space!) reduces nighttime ligth intensity by 18%. That is aprox. 12% gross local product (!) 2/5

We considered potential laggs (tourist don't immediately react to the Sargasum presence, but react to #reputation) and #spatialcorrelation. Results are robusts across specifications, showing Sargassum shocks take 3 months to have an effect, but then last for almost a year. 3/5
