We just raised a $60M Series B at a $1B valuation to build @daytonaio into the Agent Cloud. @FirstMarkCap led the round, with all key existing investors and angels doubling down. We're also thrilled to welcome the founders of some generational companies aboard, including @patrickc (Stripe), @tobi (Shopify), @AravSrinivas (Perplexity), @BrendanFoody (Mercor), @oliveur (Datadog), @adamdangelo (Quora) and @ericsyuan (Zoom) We're a 35-person team. But that's about to change; we're hiring across the board, and we'd love for you to join us.

Wearing a suit in SF is insane. People stare at you. Even other founders. Everyone's like “why are you dressed like that?” I would wear a suit every day if I could. I actually do often when I’m in New York or other cities where it's generally acceptable. Feel great in it. Croatia is even worse. People show up in flip-flops and shorts. I feel like a misfit everywhere I go.

Thankful for all the coverage around our raise 🙏

Daytona is building a cloud for agents that's like giving every agent its own computer. It has attracted founders of Stripe, Perplextity, Datadog, Mercor and others as angels, it says.

RT @abdullababakre: defining a new category: phone-use an mcp/api that gives ai agents their own phones cloud phones. real androids. real iphones. tell your agent what to do, and it can operate a phone just like you do. today, ai agents face three fundamental problems and phoneuse solves them 🧵

Interfaces are not going away. Some people keep saying the future is pure chat. "No UI, just talk to it." If that were true: - no meeting would have a whiteboard - pitch decks wouldn’t exist - You wouldn’t look at your phone screen You always need to show things and interact visually: drawing lines, previewing, whatever. Those needs don’t disappear because AI got better.

Honored to have @fkpxls on the captable!

More Daytona @PaceCap If the Daytona team were an LLM, people would write papers on how to train them. It’s only fitting that so much RL is now running on their computers, when the founders themselves are RL machines.

Agents aren’t exactly malicious. The problem is they don't have any fear or recourse. If you ask an agent with no guardrails to get you a million dollars, it’ll find the most direct path (that path might be a bank database) Run agents in sandboxes with their own credentials, their own machines, their own access rules. Then you can see what they’re doing while they’re doing it, not after the disaster through audit logs. And observability for agents should look exactly like what enterprises already run for employees. The infrastructure/systems already exist.

Daytona East Coast tour recap 🔥
    Daytona @daytonaio
East Coast last week, that was a good one 🏁 A few cities, a lot of builders, and some incredible conversations. Thanks to everyone who made it happen. Where should we bring @daytonaio next?

Idk why people scrutinize companies selling data so much. If it's old data you’re not using, sell it. They’re going to learn this stuff either way. You might as well make something off it.

None of these security incidents are a “they deserved it / had it coming” situation. We’re all next. And if you’re a competitor using this moment to poach customers, remember this is going to happen to you too. Sooner than you'd imagine. And then everyone’s going to remember the shade you're throwing at others right now. Have some empathy.

RT @pzakin: Two core beliefs driving our latest investment in Daytona: 1. @ivanburazin and @JukicVedran are sensationally talented founders; hard to overstate the talent, guts and grit behind their rapid growth. 2. We are intensely bullish on future demand for sandbox compute. Even beyond the prevailing use cases (background agents, RL, CI), I expect that emerging patterns of autonomy (autoresearch, simulation, "explorer" agents in non-verifiable domains etc...) will be voracious consumers of sandbox compute. A longer treatment co-written with @kevinyzhang on the fundraise and how we're thinking about the category.

RT @KaranVaidya6: Agents have a trust problem. Today’s models can do most work. What they need is the right boundaries. In traditional software, those were set at build time. With agents, they have to be set and enforced at runtime. Today we’re introducing Composio Firewall, the runtime boundary for agents. Millions of users and developers already use Composio as the runtime for their agents - giving agents tools, auth, and sandboxed execution. Now with our agent firewall every action an agent takes is evaluated using Jev and custom SLMs tuned by Composio based on real-world usage data. The firewall strengthens that existing boundary in both directions, checking the actions agents take and the information coming back to them through Composio. The advantage of the runtime boundary is that Composio Firewall verifies that the agent respects user intent and the boundaries set by the developer and user. Additionally, this provides the safety layer required to protect the user against malicious prompt injection as well as other attacks. Composio Firewall is live now for all Composio developers.
