We are bringing over 250M data receipts to @SuiNetwork We will also integrate Walrus to properly store and license this data, enabling Trace to verify even more about a data receipt Trace will be the de facto provenance layer for anyone looking to sell data to AI labs I also spent over 3 years learning a move-based smart contract language at Flow. Seems appropriate to go back to an asset-oriented chain ;)
    The DATA Foundation @datafdn
DATA is coming to @SuiNetwork. The DATA Network and Trace are joining the Sui stack, bringing a live supply of rights-cleared AI training data to infrastructure built for AI workloads. With 250M+ receipts already recorded by Trace, AI labs will be able to source real-world data with verifiable provenance, while @WalrusProtocol provides the underlying storage layer. Sui Foundation is investing $30 million in the DATA Network, establishing the largest institutional stake in the network, alongside the continuing holdings of PIP Labs and the DATA Foundation. Furthering the alignment, SY Lee, founder of the DATA Network and CEO of PIP Labs, joins Sui Foundation as Strategic Advisor. In the coming months: ▸ The DATA Network will be upgraded to run as a protocol natively on Sui ▸ Walrus becomes the default storage layer for DATA Foundation apps ▸ $DATA remains the token of the DATA protocol The next chapter of DATA starts here.

Trace will join the @SuiNetwork stack in order to verify the data lifecycle: → Trace as the registry and provenance layer (who, what, where) → Walrus allows us to verify its actual contents → Seal protects the data and unveils to key stakeholders
    The DATA Foundation @datafdn
The lifecycle of data, as told by the DATA protocol → @SuiNetwork.

Trace registers over 3M data receipts EVERY DAY Currently, we are able to surface tons of metadata related to a receipt's provenance: - Did the contributor sign ToS/PP? - Where did the data come from? - When was it captured/uploaded? By what device? This is the 1st major step in making the data that apps like @useKled collect SELLABLE to AI labs But the next step is actually verifying ourselves that this information is true: - Scanning the file itself to discover its metadata - Verifying the data wasn't tampered with - Keeping the original copy By storing files on @WalrusProtocol, we can verify that every data receipt is what is says it is And give frontier AI labs the complete confidence needed to purchase data in bulk Trace turns any company into a data company

    Walrus @WalrusProtocol
Walrus is becoming the default storage layer for @datafdn and Trace, the onchain registry for rights-cleared AI training data. Trace records where AI training data came from and who owns it. Walrus stores the original file, keeping it tamper-proof and accessible only to licensed buyers. Trace has already registered more than 250M contributions and adds over 3M receipts a day, from apps that license data to frontier AI labs. The next generation of AI will be trained on data from people, making provenance a procurement requirement. Walrus and @SuiNetwork make that provenance verifiable. Read the announcement:

RT @datafdn: Trace receipts, now visualized and scannable. Each receipt is a verifiable record of where data came from, what permissions it carries, and how it can be used. Verifying AI data for purchase just got a little easier.

Just released visual updates to Trace, the public audit ledger for AI training data. It's now a little easier for AI labs to verify the data they're purchasing, and for data companies to turn the raw data they collect into verifiable, sellable datasets.

RT @datafdn: Physical AI is quickly becoming one of the biggest stories in tech. As robots move beyond controlled environments and into the real world, the need for high-quality real-world data grows with them. @jacobmtucker on why that matters ↓

RT @datafdn: The DATA Network has just received clearance to onboard audit receipts for over 500,000 hours of video content spanning 30,000 pieces of entertainment, including Bugs Bunny, Woody Woodpecker, Tennessee Tuxedo, Tom & Jerry, The Pink Panther, Popeye, The Twilight Zone, Garfield, and thousands of other classics. Kled is onboarding this content to Trace so its ownership, provenance, licensing rights, and usage history can be independently verified before it is sold to AI labs. This is the future of the AI data market. The world’s most valuable IP will increasingly require permanent, transparent audit trails before it can be licensed for AI training, and those records will live on the DATA Network.

RT @datafdn: The definition of "rare data" is in flux. Online content ≠ rare (it's been scraped) Technical datasets ≠ rare (again, scraped) Trustworthy human data = rare (can't be scraped) Proving that rarity is now critical. @jacobmtucker breaks down how receipts work on Trace ↓

case #317 of tech twitter not understanding that consumers don't give a single f*ck about "open source", "private", or even "free" granola isn't popular because it takes notes. it makes people feel productive. the brand feels premium. paying for it is part of the appeal
    Andrew @dremnik
continuing my war on paid software that should be free, today's victim is: granola. quill gives you the same thing for free and completely private, just start recording and after you stop it, the entire audio gets transcribed into a default folder. completely open source as always

The very moment you submit data on @useKled, it appears on Trace with all associated metadata: → KYC info → TOS/PP agreements → lifecycle events ... and more We're adding payout status soon so any user can see if they've been paid for their data.

RT @raintures: I find network fees interesting when they’re a consequence of people using a product. Seeing @datafdn climb to around the top 20 chains by daily fees is notable, but the bigger takeaway is what’s driving it. More Trace registrations are translating into measurable onchain activity, and that’s something anyone can verify.

Happy to report story, now DATA, is now breaking into the top 20 by chain fees. We are breaking ath on chain fees due to data apps like Kled and Numo using Trace, our flagship product, to track provenance and lifecycle of human contributed training data… in other words: every single data has a receipt. Kled uses Trace so AI labs purchase their data more confidently, with full provenance tracking. More confidence = more sales/revenue. Still a long ways to go, but early traction is very promising - goal is top 10 soon!

The @datafdn has onboarded 87.5M records from data collection apps like @useKled I believe that every single company in the future will have a data monetization arm even if they aren't intentionally in this space When they go to sell that data, frontier labs will look for an audit report covering the dataset Did data contributors KYC, were they paid, etc This is exactly what we're building with Trace, the public AI audit ledger ... and every single data registration is a transaction on the $DATA Network We're currently sitting at #18 overall by chain fees,
