- yes—Ethan Klein struck up to 7 clips (though he claims to have attempted to claim more) from r/h3snark, starting as early as September of 2024 (6+ months before the CPS incident). the strikes included clips less than two minutes long, and clips from public (non-paywalled) content. this was after Ethan previously publicly announced the H3 IP was open for clipping accounts, including ones that profited from posting clips of his content on their own. Ethan claimed he was only striking members-only content, or ones that were "expressly stating" they were trying to deprive Ethan's channel of views, both of which are lies. it has been explicitly stated by Hila and heavily implied by Ethan that they were attempting to trigger Reddit's automatic subreddit ban if a particular community sustains too many takedown notices within a short period of time (which obviously failed). the Kleins also used these takedown notices to try to extract the personal information of the moderators of the subreddit through sending threatening emails to users who submitted a counterclaim on their struck posts (second image). pretty disgusting! and people like @nicholasdeorio knew about this and said literally nothing!
