Scarcity has moved beyond a marketing tactic to become a broader business strategy. Across luxury fashion, entertainment and other industries, companies are using limited supply to build demand and support premium value. Los Angeles brands including Fear of God and Madhappy have helped shape the modern drop model, turning limited product releases into cultural moments. When executed effectively, a scarcity strategy can help businesses reduce discounting, protect premium pricing and manage inventory more efficiently. The key is creating genuine exclusivity that strengthens long-term brand value. The race for LA28 marketing opportunities is already underway. Major brands including Delta Air Lines, Comcast/NBCUniversal, Coca-Cola and Samsung are among the companies that have launched, extended or expanded their Olympic commitments ahead of the 2028 Games. The value of moving early extends beyond logo placement. Olympic partnerships can provide years to build digital campaigns, athlete partnerships, community initiatives, hospitality programs and customer engagement. Businesses don’t necessarily need an official sponsorship to participate in the broader Olympic ecosystem. Hospitality companies, restaurants, technology providers and other Southern California businesses can develop campaigns and services around the visitors and economic activity expected in the region. The platform is designed to discover these identities, identify their owners and access privileges, evaluate permissions and risk in real time, and apply lifecycle controls and policy guardrails. Nearly 40 years of legal counsel culminated in a $170 million real estate transaction in Marina del Rey. Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP served as counsel to Shores LLC in the sale of Shores, a 544-unit marina-adjacent residential community, to affiliates of Jackson Square Properties. The deal is one of the largest commercial real estate transactions in Los Angeles County in 2026. Cox Castle partner Ira Waldman has advised on the property since the late 1980s, beginning with the negotiation and documentation of its ground lease extension with Los Angeles County. His work continued through multiple redevelopment scenarios, financing and development—including what was then the largest HUD-insured loan in the United States—and ultimately the property’s sale. “This transaction marks the culmination of decades of planning, redevelopment, financing and stewardship of one of Southern California’s most distinctive waterfront residential communities,” Waldman said.100120
